I'm sorry, but paying almost 40m in an 19 years old unproven CB that have only 1 year left in his contract is beyond insane, and I doubt it'll happen

He's one of the reason why Athletic is 4th in the league. He's really good. Watch the Athletic - Barca game from this season. The price is really steep but he's good.

I think 40m isn't all that much for this team anymore. We use to spend a lot on transfer periods for several players, now we only need to get one, maximum two per summer.

We had only 3 transfers over 30m since ever... Of course 40m is a lot... Especially when it is for an 19 years old unproven CB ...

We've spent a shit ton in the past, it was just spread out over 4-5 players. Now we can afford to go big every summer.

I only see Koke being a possibility if Shaq and Mandzukic leave, otherwise don't see the playing time that would appeal to him to come.

Maybe not as talent but is still very talented and definitely will be a starter for the NT in the future...

I rather have him... Enough with the "spanishzation"... Martinez, Thiago and eventually Koke are enough...

Why not worry about getting the better players over getting players based on where they're from?

Laporte is French.

Anyways I think Ginter is very good too. Guardiola probably likes Laporte better, which isn't a bad thing because Laporte is also fantastic. If Pep wants Laporte, let him get his wish - otherwise it will turn into Barca 2.0 where he gets mad that he can't create his vision.

I have no problem with getting Ginter, but if better options exist, I would go for that. Just like if Thiago Silva is on the market I rather get him than Laporte.
