I wonder if United have even seen him play to be willing to splash that kind of money for him.

I personally think it's going to be a waste to get Kroos.. He just isn't that "EPL speed" type player..

He fits perfectly in our system and he would fit perfectly in barca, but EPL?

    I just don't see it

Why would Kroos care about fit? Fit should matter if you want a bigger payday after. If that report is true, he'd already get his big payday

For a €40 million transfer fee and a €16.5 million per year contract I say we let Kroos go to United. If he signed a 4 year contact that would be €106 million they'd pay for Toni Kroos (€40 million + €16.5 Mio * 4).

It would be the ultimate revenge for '99 to bankrupt Man U and destroy their wage structure. :sneaky:

Plus then we could just turn around and sign Koke. :coffee:

You think koke is better then Kroos or does he have similar attributes.

From the ATL Madrid games I seem to not notice him too much.

Aside from the 2nd leg goal. I guess I don't pay attention to what he does and what his role is..

Anyone who knows care to shime in?

Don't worry, the chances of van Buyten getting a new contract are close to zero.

Stop deluding yourself, Van Buyten will be here for the rest of our lives and will still somehow manage to start the 2028 Champions' League final.

Once he wins 4 Champions' League titles back to back he will grow fat and shave his head in order to become the President of Bayern ala Hoeness.

And he will commit multi-million euro tax fraud to go to jail but will still be able to come to our matches.

His agents denies the story ... well kinda

"We have not received an official contract offer. Furthermore, there is no need to make an official contract offer because Toni will play for Bayern until at least 2015."

Seriously doubt Hummels would be caught dead in a Bayern uniform.

    You're looking at it wrong.

Hummels hates Bayern for telling him he wasn't good enough and selling him to BVB.

Less about loyalty to BVB than dislike of Bayern. Hummels wasn't given his shot at Bayern, Bayern went on to sell him to BVB and fire his father, and Hummels agreed to sever Bayern's buyout option at BVB despite potential to make more money at Bayern. He won't return.

EDIT: To answer your question, I do.

Reus could have come 2 years ago and chose BVB, why would he choose us now?

Guaranteed starting spot at that point probably rather than Shaqiri's role?

Ribery and Robben are in their 30s now, Guardiola is the coach, his buddy Gotze is at Bayern now, Reus has taken the next step at BVB and might be ready for a new challenge, Bayern can pay him more, etc.
