What about a guy like Kuyt? He is apparently going to be out at Liverpool, why not as a bench guy? Seems like it would be a waste for him to go back to Feyenoord.

Would be a like-for-like replacement for Olic, that's for sure. The man is a workhorse and he is clutch for Liverpool. Benitez turned him into more of a wide player but I believe he was originally a ST. Rumoured to be available for 1M Pounds. I think he would add some nice depth actually.

HSV are looking at him. He wants a starting place obviously and he wouldn't get that here.

Who doesn't?? If we actually want a quality deputy, we're gonna have to persuade him with a fat cheque.

Kuyt isn't that kind of person or player though.

Shaqiri and Dante for 15 Million combined is great business. Loving those 2 signings.

I don't quite see the logic in signing Kuyt, though. Sure he's got a great mentality but he's almost 32 and his technical play is awful. If we wanted something like that we would have just offered Olic a great contract and given him more playing time...

IMO, Martin Harnik or Mario Mandzukic would be much better options.

Who is the current favorite for backup GK? I've seen Hildebrand and Heinz Muller's names pop up. Don't really have an opinion on that.

So far we've just been replacing outgoing players, I'm curious who the depth is we'll add.

At the moment the revolving door has been...

    Pranjic out, Shaqiri in.
    Breno out, Dante in.
    Olic out, ? in.
    Butt out, ? in.

Emre Can looks to be getting promoted as well.

If we can get Higuain and Gaitan... and maybe Howedes... that would be an awesome team.

shaqiri and dante are both two great signings in my opinion. shaqiri is young and he has skills, it seems great to replace robben or ribéry during next years. at defence we have really young CBs as starters and surely is our weakest area but they are doing really well eventually so i think dante is a perfect player to get a rol as sub.

for next year we need a GK and a FW and surely a left winger who could play as LB too. then i think shaqiri comes to take over usami as i see alaba as what pranjic was suposed to be and it wasn't. in fact since alaba has appeared regularly in the 1rst team, pranjic has desapeared.

I´d really like to see Mario Mandzukic as Gomez Backup/Opponent next season. I rate him really high, he´s capable of creating chances and scoring and i´d prefer him over pizza anytime. Not a good chance on that one anyway....

What do you guys think about an creative OM to take pressure from RibRob and make our Game more intelligent and open? Sneijder anyone? :p

I wouldn't take Sneijder if he came on a free. Kroos and Muller is more than enough as the AM/OM position, while Shaq will be given his "tryout" this upcoming season to see how he fares with/vs Robbery.

I think offensively we are ok save for one Olic replacement

Robben, RIbery kroos , Muller, Shaqirri, Gomez

All we need are back ups and hopefully we offload Van Buyten, Pranjic and Breno
