I didn't mean it like an end of the world thing. And I agree with your entire post. I just, as a fan, want to see what Jona can do in La Liga. I'd love for him to go on loan for a year and then return to Barca when Xavi, Iniesta are a year older. I just don't want him to become a barca afterthought.
I was thought the same thing. It seems as if he is afraid of making a decision he will regret. Eitherway, he is 22 already, he should have gotten the hint that unless he is Messi, the catalanes will be ahead of him. If he rumor of sporting is true, he should take it. If he fails, I doubt sporting will have the deep pockets to pay a player high wages and not play him for 5 years. Gio just had bad luck.
Guillermo Jiménez from Cruz Azul is going to pre-season training with Sporting Lisbon and try to win a spot on the team. http://www.record.com.mx/article/zaguero-de-cruz-azul-hara-pretemporada-con-el-sporting-de-lisboa
Actually, from the story it's possible to say that it's a fact. He's a new Mexican abroad. Good luck!
Exactly: "sus agentes tienen un acuerdo con el Sporting Lisboa, de la Liga portuguesa, para que realice la pretemporada con ellos y, dependiendo de esto, decidan en qué categoría jugará."So it sounds like he's in, preseason will just determine where he is placed.
This is a couple of days old, but Santos is keen on retaining Cándido Ramírez despite the fact that --according to this article-- Celtic may want his services now: "Santos Laguna are hoping to persuade Candido Ramirez to stay with the club after Celtic showed interest in the teenage midfielder. "
Rumors of Aldo De Nigris to Bordeaux resurface http://www.topmercato.com/48461,1/exclu-tm-un-mexicain-a-bordeaux-ou-toulouse.html
Where does it say that? I used the tools on google for posted last 24 hours and that was one of the first ones up.
You for all the shit sutcliffe catches, i will vouch for his NFL proficiency.....this dude goes ham with the updates when hes doing his thing in english. really impressed me last season.
In fact, Sutcliffe comes from an american football environment, but had to convert to soccer because of market needs. The same happened with Faitelson, his expertise is in baseball and boxing, not soccerm he had to change because there is no money in the sports he likes.
http://www.dn.pt/desporto/sporting/interior.aspx?content_id=2647976 Looks like we need at Jimenez at Sporting thread. Also Jimenez is now Goochies teammate.
It's just a rehash of what Record published. He'll be with them during pre season and depending on his performance, they might keep him with the first team, he might get sent to the reserves or they might not even offer him a contract.
Pretty sure they Sporting already denied that rumor. That article is from july 4th so yeah. http://www.ojogo.pt/Futebol/1a_liga/Sporting/interior.aspx?content_id=2647935 http://www.record.xl.pt/Futebol/Nacional/1a_liga/Sporting/interior.aspx?content_id=766067
Just a rumor but Davila to Bolton on loan. Bolton was relegated to the Championship and are owed a Chelsea loan. The rumor is Bolton asked for Oriol Romeu, but he doesn't want to go down to Championship since he already has 1st team minutes and is looking to fight for his place. Davila could be offered instead assuming the work permit isn't an issue. This could give Davila the first team minutes he really missed last year. The championship is not that bad, I remember Gio tore it up down there. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/9805356.Coyle_wants_Blues__Romeu/
He was just freaking playing in he vitesse reserves bro. This is a step up, and the championship isnt that bad. It wouldnt be the best case scenario for him, but wouldnt be terrible.
Not sure about that, but either way I want our players to be more physical and for a 20 yr old to be playing in the championship, i'll take it for a season to get him used to English soccer.
^ I was curious about that post, too. Is it just a casual Internet opinion about Mex>Championship, or is there some objective measures that inform such an opinion? Even if the quality is lower in the Championship, I gotta believe the experience - playing in a foreign country and hightened physical play - makes it a worthwhile experience.
That dude that was at Crystal Palace mentioned how the Championship is quicker and stronger than the Mexican league, so.
This is what barrera should of done instead of going to spain, because we all know how that turned out. So, as long as Davila has a similar style of play to the EPL, that alone will be good for him. Plus if he is going to be in a team where he can actually compete for promotion, a good atmosphere will also help him out. Plus with a solid coach.
