if I get zemans words right, its obvious there been at least talk. So this is worrying, cause city can hand out the money easily. Zeman says he thinks ddr will remain, no definitive he is definetly staying and not going anywhere comment.
Wouldn't shed a tear if we don't hold onto Bojan permanently to be quite honest with you. First off I didn't expect him to remain here beyond the 2 year loan to begin with. Secondly I just don't see him figuring heavily into Zeman's plans. Wasn't he one of LE's requested players anyways?
He's 29 years old and isn't getting any younger. Roma is in the midst of a rebuilding project that may take at least another 3 years to reach its full potential. At his age he he probably doesn't see himself as having much time left to simply ride things out and hope things materialize with Roma, no matter how much he loves the club and city. He has yet to win a major title at the club level, and after so many world class seasons with Roma, only to frequently come up short, you'd have to think that his patience is wearing a little thin. Personally, I still don't see him going anywhere. I think he'd simply have too hard a time walking away from the club and city. One would also have to wonder how well he'd be able to adapt to the English game after spending his entire career up to this point in Italy. It would mean a new country, new culture, and new brand of football. Might not be the easiest scenario to adapt to, regardless of how class of a player he is. I also think that Sabatini would only consider a particularly generous offer from Man. City to really pull the trigger on this deal. De Rossi's worth to this club goes well beyond just his contributions on the pitch. He's a Roman to the core, and although he may not be worshipped to the same extent as Totti, he is still a treasure for the fans and city. One would have to consider the potential ramifications that the club would suffer from the tifosi unless there were to be heavy financial compensation coming our way (enough to add some top class talent to the squad). If Saba were to sell Totti's "heir" only to use those funds to bring in some more talented youngsters then that would raise some serious question marks regarding Saba's logic.
The loan deal made little sense from the get go. Perhaps if the LE project wasn't a complete flop it would've made more sense, but unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Zeman è sicuro: “De Rossi rimarrà. La società sa che per me è importante so he is saying that he is sure that De Rossi will remain. The team knows its important to me.
Of course he is going to say that. If there is a press conference on Tuesday it will be to break the news. Up until then the status quo will be preserved as Daniele himself wants to explain himself personally. Those words of Zeman mean nothing until we see what happens at this press conference. I hope I'm wrong.
well if he wants to go he will go if he wants to stay he will stay...all i would say to him if i could is look at Lavezzi...he doing nothing in France and has gotten suspended already...
Your point about Totti is a good one. You have to imagine that DDR resents always being in Totti's shadow. The "capitan futuro" business is getting insulting--De Rossi has been a better and more consistent player for Totti for some time. Great players are competitive; he's probably looking around and asking himself what he'll win at Rome. There are players much inferior to him who get more silverware and attention. These realities matter.
If I remember correctly, "capitan futuro" was invented as a joke or mocking Totti, and stayed. There is a captain and a vise-captain, that's it. It never stopped De Rossi acting as a leader on the pitch and the locker-room. Everyone knows Roma has two leaders. When Totti is not there he is the captain, not capitan futuro but capitan presente. And contrary to some fans, I doubt De Rossi would want to take away the title from Totti. Winning something big, like championship or an international title is something different altogether. That is the only reason de Rossi might go.
Marquinhos is having his medical. And breaking news apparently he now has hair. Shame, he look like a Brazilian Cannavaro with a shaved head.
Well we certainly don't want him behaving like Cannavaro. The wasp sting excuse would never work if he got caught doping.
Can we call them Marq-Marc? This kid really intrigues me, everything I have read on him makes him out to be pretty legit already.
I really cant wait for the start of the the league, I don't think others have realised how good we have become in pre-season...I just feel this will be a great year
doubt it we'll sign anyone else, although im still hoping for a deadline day announcement of.....Ogbonna
lol me too. In other news, forzaroma.info reports a scambio between Mexes and Bojan. This would be such a B*TCH for a lawyer to work out. I don't know if Milan would assume the loan, or what. Ogbonna is the man.
