You need to see combat to be a warrior?

MLK was a warrior. Like to see you apply your logic to that.

Football players can be warriors. Just because they haven't chosen to join the armed forces doesn't demean their feats.

He said warrior, not soldier. Warrior can have different connotations depending on context.

My advice - when you get engaged in a definition of warrior with a dude named Grunt, just walk away slowly before someone gets hurt.

Demps is now a "battler" in my book. Never a "warrior."

    Hahaha. Point taken.

How about "trooper"? As in "he's a real trooper for gutting out 98 minutes 3 days after playing 90 in humidity and then flying 6k miles"?

Touchy? Pff. You've seen the way some of us react when Dempsey gets called a wing player, right?

The question is: Is he a world-class warrior battling against an anti-American bias, while demonstrating why the Eredivise is not on the same level as the English Championship? :D

I believe you are thinking of the word "trouper," which has nothing to do with military service.

I've seen that before. That dude is clearly wrong. Check the dictionary and every other discussion of the difference between trooper and trouper. Anyone who says: "you're a real trooper" is not using the correct word.

Unless they mean you were in "F Troop!" or a boyscout troop. Really, it's such and old trope only a tired trollop (or Trollope!) uses "you're a real trouper" any more.

You are arguing with the Editor in Chimp, ya baboon!

btw, Pat Benetar is also warrior, but love is her battlefield.
