http://www.oceaniafootball.com/ofc/...86cb-8d93b2220606/language/en-US/Default.aspx Sounds like this guy's a scorer. In his first season with the Wellington Phoenix, he scored 16 goals in 24 matches, so that can't be all bad. I just hope he realizes what he's in for when he gets to Toronto.
NZ Herald reports that Brockie only be here until August. It doesn't sound like there's an option to buy. He has pretty nice record of being in the right place at the right time for a winger.
If anyone watched the Wigan match yesterday....Gary Caldwell is generally accepted as being the better of the two Caldwells
So TFC have brought in a Scottish Califf. Still not psyched. On a brighter note, have a good stay over the coming year
Thanks Davem. Yep, I think I spent at least fifty per cent of this season yelling 'For ****'s sake Caldwell!' as we watched him try and turn around like an articulated lorry.
Now we just signeed Ben Haim. Another Int'l spot. Another CB. As DeVos just tweeted: 10 games into the season and they're signing players to replace ones they just signed.
I actually like this. Don't waste time trying to make failed signings work. I think we've all seen enough of Ephraim to say he isn't good enough, and the likes of Bostock and Taylor Morgan (who should be loaned out) can't even break the starting XI. It's a bit better than trading good or decent players for other players hoping they turn out better until we have nothing left. And I would guess that Ephraim will be one of the first ones out. Or is it just a coincidence that he lost his starting spot right after we acquired two new internationals (three now)?
you build team chemistry with players that you will keep for couple of years. Payne and Nelsen are still in the process of identifying who they want
My in-laws are Jewish, so they'll be thrilled to have an Israeli on the club. I'm guessing he's not orthodox or he'll be missing a lot of games.
He will probobly be put on the wing/fullback position so emory can be shelved as depth sub. wouldn't suprise me if Nelsen went Ben Haim,O'dea,Henry/Caldwell, Ecks (when healthy). Henry played a pretty solid game... so I could see him riding henry until he messes up or subbing out henry for more experience and composure when that 80th minute comes around..
So, what will Nelson do when his three "veterans" play and the team gives up a "soft" goal in the last quarter hour of a game? And if you're Henry, Boss, or Califf, do you look at the coaching staff and management and say "ok guys, tell me why I should work hard for you since you obviously think I'm not good enough to start in the MLS"? This is particularly true when there have been two common denominators in each of the last minute brain freezes..., Coach Nelson (and his starter/substitute choices) and Captain O'Dea. I'm not blaming #48, but absent Califf, he has to take control of the defenders. Flame away!
Welcome to TO! As a UofT grad, many moons ago, and then doing a masters in your fine country I know you will enjoy your experience. Hey, once you find out the names of our other two schools let me know who they are,
ToAreaFan will be giving me some stick on that one, lol, we are very fortunate to have three extremely well respected universities for kids who are close and perhaps far away to choose from. Enjoy the city and your time here.
NEW THREAD We are not alone. Man. City let in a late goal and lost the cup. Leicester let in a late goal and lost any chance for promotion to the Premiership. L.A. let in two goals in the last five minutes and lost to Vancouver. There are more. The point being many teams win or lose in the last minutes of a game. The other point being that we do it too often.
Ben Haim isn't coming after all. Seems kind of amateur that you would announce a signing on your official website before it's actually complete
Granted they jumped the gun by saying he signed, but I haven't heard that he's NOT coming. Basically he wants a longer than a two-month deal. Which makes sense. Also, Brockie will for sure be returning to his club after June 30, so he's here for just a handful of games.
