He said it was a personal decision. Some people said he rather play for free at Vida than for TFC.. probably find out more soon. He's a good friend of mines.
El Canterano seems to be a reliable source. They're tweeting that a fee of $350,000 was agreed to. Apparently Carla Dip whos' the president at Vida is pissed because they needed the money to cover last season's salaries. Because of that, they had to pull back all their players from the Copa Centroamericana. There's no info yet on w he declined because he got better offer elsewhere nor is it confirmed that he'd rather play for Paul Mariner instead Ryan Nelsen.
This is very odd cuz he was HOLDING OUT from training camp with Vida due to his unpaid salaries.. there has to be something noone knows about thats keeping him from moving on. No UNCAF lol.. Its not like he's not replaceable at a position he's not natural at. Arnold should be worried cuz this could cost his job at the NT level if Brayan Beckeles or Crisanto have a good tourney.
Now the Honduran press is saying that he is staying at Vida until June when his contract ends and then become a free agent. So Vida gets nothing and Arnold Peralta can leave to join another club for free. I hope he changes his mind and signs for TFC. If he does stay and then leaves for free in June it would make him look like an egotistical asshole. https://twitter.com/ElCanteranoHN https://twitter.com/LegionCatracha https://twitter.com/search/realtime?q=Arnold+Peralta&src=typd
One big drama man. Last I read this morning was, Arnold Peralta wasn't comfortable playing in Toronto so he decided to say no... Regardless I never liked Carla Dip as an owner. She doesn't know what she's doing. Funny enough there use to be a poster here on BS who frequented the Honduras section who was a director at Vida and felt the same way I did. He and two others made most of the decisions for her. idk if he still works there, but one thing I do know is that Vida is in shambles and she's not helping. Her father is a cool dude. Dip Shipping Co.
What do you mean he wasn't comfortable? A week a go he said in a Diez newspaper article that he was happy to come to Toronto. Now he isn't. https://twitter.com/IRDTUSA https://soundcloud.com/r-ivan/ap
He probably finally sat down and thought about it. This comes as a surprise to everyone. Not just TFC or Vida.. everyone.
Hi Catracho Azul Do you think this is just and smoke screen and that Peralta and TFC are still negotiating. Maybe Peralta wants more money.
For signings and transfers and such TFC signs 32 yr old former Scotland international CB Steven Caldwell on loan from Birmingham. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Caldwell Also 25 yr old New Zealand international striker/winger Jeremy Brockie on loan from Wellington Phoenix. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeremy_Brockie
Beginning to wonder if all these short term loans are such a good thing. I appreciate the band aids, but there's little team chemistry and identity on the team now.
The thing I like about Brockie is that he knows how to be a star...for a crap team. He's got 16 goals in the A-League this year for last place Wellington.
No longer just rumours: http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2013/05/new-defender-joins-reds-loan http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2013/05/phoenix-forward-lands-loan
Given that Payne wasn't around for the full offseason, I get that these loan deals are essentially extended trial periods. I just hope that this is just a short-term thing and we're not going back to the old TFC style of keeping the door revolving and hope that something sticks.
Hi everyone, first time poster. I'm actually a Birmingham City supporter, but moving to your wonderful city in August, so quite a coincidence about Caldwell! I think he'll do a good job for you, short-term. In his first season, he was absolutely fantastic, model professional, and one of our players of the season. Last year, Old Father Time caught up with him and he looked slower than a tortoise with rigor mortis, quite frankly. We don't get to see much MLS over here, but I think Caldwell will be a real asset for Toronto in the short term. I wouldn't be surprised to see him move into the coaching staff, he's been talked about as managerial material before. Anyway, I'm looking forward to coming to see some games when I move over (I'll be studying at your university), and discussing them on here!
Off topic...but I presume you mean UofT.......as a graduate of one of the two other universities in town and the father of a current UofT student, you will fit right in there......i swear they go out of their way to recruit students who think they are Toronto's only university
Enjoy your year....it is a great school...just not the only great school (no matter what they tell ya )
