So we're winless in three, and Toronto is winless in 2012. Suck Bowl 2012, or time for one of these teams to break out? Us, please! Discuss either the game or how we'll feel aggrieved even if we win by four. You choose!
That was a horrible call by the ref. That ref needs to lose his...Oh...wait. I guess I'm guilty of premature emasculation.
this is sooooo a trap game TFC has absolutely nothing to lose (reminds me of their LA CCL Matchup) while we have everything to lose. Kreis better light a fire under their butt's and have them flying from the opening whistle. Starting XI I hope to see [LINEUP-4-4-2]Espy, Sabo, Willy, Gil, KB, Vela, Wing, Borchers, Olave, Tony, Nicky[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Bench: Reynish, Schuler, Tanaka, Javi, Yordany, Grabs, Bonfigli Javi needs a rest and could (hopefully) make a great sub I'd have Sabo penned in as a 60/70 minute sub unless playing very well or the game still needs him. I'd also bring on Bonfigli instead of PJ. Kyle could maybe use a rest, but I'd wait and possibly do it as a sub instead of resting him from the start. This is a must win game.
this thread should have had a poll that had a variety of options on how the ref was going to miss a big call. a. red card for a foul that was maybe a yellow b. phantom penalty kick call c. blatant offsides (either called on or off) d. goal line issue e. all of the above
Will Velasquez play this game? Last time he played was in KC. Trap Game for sure!!! TFC has to win sometime, just hope it's not on Saturday.
I think it's hard to call it a trap game when you've gotten 1 point in 3 matches. I don't think it matters who they are playing or what their record is. The team should be very focused on this one no matter what.
quite frankly we have to win this game. if you look at our schedule, there is no margin for error in the long term. our away schedule is absolutely brutal and while we have started well so far on the road, it is at no point guaranteed to get a point in any of remaining away games save for maybe @columbus the chivas games. home games against terrible teams like tfc are insanely important to get 3 points in. it's why i was so pissed when we dropped that chivas game, that was 3 points lost that could really hurt us at the end of the season. our schedule is brutal, we have to have 3 points in this game. no excuses.
Agreed. Plus RSL has fresh memories of what happened the last time a winless team came to Rio Tinto: They walked out with 3 points. The one good thing that came from the Chivas loss is that RSL will not overlook anyone anymore.
Okay, so this is off-topic a bit, but has anyone else noticed we've got a new, shorter Leo this year?
Speaking of nuclear apocalypse, what happens to TFC if they lose 7 in a row? They have to fire Winter, right?
According to MLS preview of the game: REFEREE: Silviu Petrescu. SAR (bench): Daniel Belleau; JAR (opposite): Kevin Duliba; 4th: David Gantar MLS Career: 43 games; FC/gm: 27.5; Y/gm: 3.7; R: 8; pens: 6
Being the lazy, worthless ne-er-do-well that is me, I wasn't sure what to do for the Toronto line-up other than they are Canadians, ergo, here is my line-up: [LINEUP-4-4-2]Celine Dion, Pam Anderson, Bryan Adams, Wayne Greztky, Peter Jennings, Tommy Chong, Geddy Lee, Mike Myers, Neil Young, Amanda Tapping, Gordon Lightfoot[/LINEUP-4-4-2] Coach: John Candy (RIP). Let's see if this line-up performs any better than the current Toronto FC line-up.
i thought terrance and phillip would get the start....and then proceed to stink up the joint before being subbed in the second half. jim carrey might make a good second half sub as well, his speed and length could really be dangerous.
I thought terrance and philip were english, not canadian, but then I haven't seen every South Park episode.
