Apparently suffered a severe muscle strain that kept him out of action for 3 to four wee------days, and is now back in the Nurnberg's lineup. I feel bad for Chandler. It seems that so often when the US has a game to play his body gives out on him. The Italy game being the latest example, the Gold Cup being a huge miss for him personally obviously. I hope his body can "hold up" more often in the future.
Well It doesn't really matter right now but I hope he gets over his "Injury" problem in time for WC qualifying
Does that really happen? Rooney and Donovan and Chandler all go to the same superimportant clubhouse and get the flu for their national team games, because everyone knows that there isn't the money and glory and awesomeness to support your country, also aliens.
This. Apparently Jones was back in training two days after he was dropped from the US squad. Newsflash, clubs want their players to avoid "unnecessary" injury and fatigue at all costs.
Missing friendlies doesn't bother me. Missing the GC pisses me off to no end. It wasn't even the useless gold cup held without a Confed spot on the line. If we have Chandler for that final, it could have been a lot different. One could argue that the course of Bradley's career was likely affected.
If Chandler was a German international his club would have no problem letting him go. It's the truth.
I think it also has a lot to do with Nurnberg wanting him to stay healthy as he is seen as a huge asset for them and their future. Let's not act like this is a conspiracy. If this was a qualifier then I'd be angry, but other players both for us and other countries had no problems with German teams releasing their players for friendlies. My personal opinion is with Nurnberg having an outside shot at a Europa spot combined with Timmy having a few nicks this season, they didn't want to take the risk of him getting hurt.
The clubs pay the money, I totally understand where they are coming from. Friendlies are not that big a deal and if a club is contending for silverware, European spots, or fending off relegation, then I think they should come first. Missing the GC sucked, but then again he was just breaking into the club at the time, so some perspective is needed there as well. Of course they would have released him for Germany. That is also are own damn problem, we need to build our own league.
Chandler could have honestly had some small knock that Nuremberg didn't want to get worse. Going to play a full 90 in Italy midweek then traveling back to Germany for a game on the weekend could have injured him. A lot of clubs did the same. Arsenal didn't want Tomas Rosicky to play for Czech even though Rosicky was fit for example.
T Chandler Well, he was injured last week. But he did played for Nuremberg this weekend. I am started to wonder if he really wants to play for the US. What do you guys think? Over in the Bundesliga, Timothy Chandler worked a threatening 68 minutes on right wing, departing before Albert Bunjaku bagged a late 1-0 winner over season darlings Borussia Mönchengladbach. Before the deciding goal, Chandler had the best chance of the night, with his acrobatic effort from a bad angle saved on the hour. Thanks to their third straight victory, Der Club entered the table's better half in ninth place[/I]
Re: T Chandler The coach faked a player injury to not be called up to international duty, what's the big deal?
Re: T Chandler just for the point of discussion, when is the point of no return for him? After he plays in a WCQ?
Re: T Chandler Any competitive senior team game. So World Cup Qualifiers, World Cup games, Gold Cup games.
