He's been on the list for years, but never had his own thread apparently. Anyway, German-American 1990 Timothy Chandler moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to FCN (second team) for the 10/11 season. http://www.fcn.de/junioren/1-fcn-ii/saison-201011/team/ Standing, second from left. Also, Pell Matarrazzo is now a trainer with the squad. He's a former YA who spent a bunch of years in Germany, many with this same team. I think that's him standing at far right.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg I think he plays Right-midfield now. Regular 90 starter and just scored last game. 3 goals in 13 games
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Chandler played the second half in Nurnberg's friendly against Genclerbirligi.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Nurnberg have used all three subs No Chandler today but great news he made the bench for the first time ever in a Bundesliga match
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg I smell a Yanksabroad article coming soon. a RF,RM,RB. Interesting to see where his first position will be when he enters a Bundesliga match.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Sounds like he's a Frankfurt native http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/american-exports-notepad-jones-onyewu
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Chandler is on the bench right now for Nurnberg in their DFB Pokal match against Offenbach Nurnberg up 2-0 in the second half
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg 56' Substitution, FC Nurnberg. Timothy Chandler defender replaces Jens Hegeler.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Kind of a big deal. shame he just misses the U-20s. Could be an olympic option. Nurnberg arent too strong on the right from what ive seen, a sub at the 56th minute might indicate that. Ill have to watch a nurnberg game next week to see
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg The club wanted to wait but I got them to agree to maybe the end of this week. I also needed to find a German interpreter It's still not set but I am cautiously optimistic. It's a bit touchy. I've been trying hard for close to three weeks.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Chandler on the bench for the Cup quarterfinal against Schalke. I started a gameday thread for the 2:30pm ET kickoff.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg And here it is: http://yanks-abroad.com/get.php?mode=content&id=7318 It was a good read. Thanks. Edit: Seems like its been forever since I've been able to give you rep.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Amen brother. A real nice piece as usual. I'll call him JJ (Jermaine Junior). German mother. American father who was a solider. Of American-African decent. Parents divorced. Lived with his mother. Speaks little English. And started off with Eintracht Frankfort. They couldn't be more linked. Now let's just hope he has the same impact as Jermaine. I love that these stories keep popping up. I love that Chandler has the US on his mind. He's definitely worth monitoring. Kudos to the kid for accepting a positional change and for knuckling down and working his way to the 1st team. It says a great deal about his character and drive.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg Yep, cool great find of this guy, very surprising he is just coming to light in the last 6 months or so. I agree that he is almost an exact clone of the JJ story....only he seems to want to play for the US first, if those comments hold up. One to keep an eye on.
Re: Timothy Chandler at FC Nuernberg If I were young Timmah!'s rep I'd advise him to sign up for English lessons ASAP just to make acclimating to the US players and coaches a little easier.
