Nurnberg still doesn't know when he'll be back according to online reports. But they only have two games left. Enough time for him to recover, right?

    Right.

I'm pretending if I say it to myself it'll come true.

Hey, I've got an idea for a tweak to the thread title: Tippecanoe and Timmay Too: The Chandler Thread.

Having lived in Germany for ages, I think I have this one figured out.

    1. He has no idea what the Gold Cup is. Meh.
    2. He asks himself: does it make me more money? No
    3. Am I better than all other options? Yes
    4. Does it potentially hurt my newly found starting status? potentially.

And that is all there is to know. There is risk with limited reward.

    End of story.

Of course, if he jumps to Germany then go ahead and put number five in here:

    5. Germany is better

    Wow, I cannot believe this.

I'm rushing to the first possible solution - Germany.

If this is Bob this is one of the most questionable decisions he has ever made.

If this is Chandler, what gives? We could have been working Lichaj into the team instead. We were not so desperate at the position that we needed to waste time on a player who didn't really want to be here.

Looking at his quotes, let's just say it will be a pleasant surpise if Chandler ever plays for us again.

Did Chandler just take us for a ride? This is so disturbing on so many levels.

I don't understand why everyone is so dismissive of the explanation provided.

Chandler was a youth player this time last year that anyone on here would have laughed if he was suggested as a Gold Cup squad member. Theres no doubt its been a whirlwind season for him.

It would therapeutic if Bob could just come out and tell us the hard truth about Chandler...

It's a lot better if he is keeping the German option open. Because otherwise it's a monstrously dumb coaching decision.

So you're saying Bob is lying when he's saying Chandler was worn down after his first professional season???

People need to take a breath here.

Anybody who suggests that this was Bob's decision is batshit crazy. Chandler asked to be left out. The reasoning behind this is what we don't know. No need to jump to conclusions.

I imagine it would have been a mutual decision between Chandler, Bob and the management at Nuernberg.

This. And frankly I can't understand how anyone with a lick of common sense could conclude otherwise.
