I want them to perform well in by winning the key games, Argentina, Bolivia, Ecuador etc etc. Of course we hardly qualifying but I am talking about winning those specific key games. What is this mess with I'm going all the way? Can't I say IF we qualify that we should perform well?

Esperemos ganarle a Bolivia y por goleada, despues podemos sonar.....pero el problema es que ya dependemos de los demas tambien!!!

Si un empate contra Argentina es logico pa nosotros, pero el sueño es ganar contra ellos, y creo si ganamos en Buenos Aires podemos clasificar. Con el nuevo director de Argentina pienso k es muy posible. Si o No? Es claro k los triunfos contra Bolivia y Venezuela son importantes. Pero un triunfo contra Argentina es gigante pa el pais pero mas con el moral del equipo.

Nada... es positivismo, creer en nosotros mismos y siempre ir por el primer puesto en todo lo q hacemos, esa es la idea no ? el sueno de todo jugador de futbol... Re: Colombia vs Nigeria- amistoso 2008 señores, se que muy tarde y todo pero bueno he estado un poco ocupado..... vi el partido en persona...y llegue a pensar que la sele iba a empatar ante una palidisima nigeria cosas por decir el problema de gol en la seleccion es de no creerse, darwin podra ser una culebra cuando se mueve, pero de ahi no pàsa. falcao es un muy buen definidor,pero que problemita si no tiene un armador, no se pelea una. gio moreno es un lento que no sabe que es tener la camiseta de la seleccion. armero es un carroloco, es gracioso verlo tratar de gambetear, pero ante un rival de mas talla no seria ni 5 de chistoso yepes definitivamente es la joya de la seleccion, nada que hacer el estadio es muy bonito, le falta pues los acabados finales y listo, pero que verguenza decirlo, el publico caleño es de lo peorcito, todo el partido madrearon a falcao y a gio hdez. en general disfrute bastante el encuentro, el estadio y el momento. saludos muchachos

You just answered yourself!!! With help from the refs and for being the host. I didn't talk about big teams, the big teams can win without the refs...But the fact that Korea, who as I recall, didn't won any game in their WC tournaments until 2002 suddenly reaching the 4th place, it's only home games and refs help' not necesarry in this order. Don't know if Rueda is the best coach for Colombia. Maybe. He definitly has done wonderful things with NT like Honduras. But I think Quintabani can do well also and in my opinion also Bolillo or Suarez. By the way, even that I don't like him, I think Diego Umana does an excellent job for few years now in America (they were garbage before he came, in danger to relegated), but I don't think that he gets exposure from the media, he always looks antipat, anti-social, maybe the media doesn't like him. But no doubt that he is a good coach. I catually think that the coach does matter for a football team and you have an excellent example from our NT. Look how Colombia played in the CA 2007 and at the beginning of the qualifiers (except Brazil and Argentina matches) nuder Pinto, and look how we play now under Lara. Look how we played 4 games with Maturana and how we played the rest of the qualifiers with Rueda. Definitly the players have to do 80% of the job, but you also need a coach who will understand the players and let them play and not one like Pinto, who didn't get along with any of the players. (just to see what we missed from Yepes who fought with idiot Pinto).

But he is Vice Capt of Inter and is fast and has leadership qualities, plus him and Yepes make a great 1-2 defense. Of course with Mosquera and Zuñiga as supporting defenders.

If anything Walter Moreno who has started to improve will be the replacement. I guess that the defenders on the wings is being contested with Zuniga and Armero. I dont know if we will ever see Velez again.

Korea, like any host nation, received a lot of support from the refs in 2002, but my view was that their team also over-performed on the pitch and were very well coached by Hiddink. This is to say, Korea did well in 02 for a lot of reasons, and I wouldn't attribute all their success to homefield advantage. Japan had all the same advantages, but played horribly....

Re: Colombia vs Nigeria- amistoso 2008 CRAZY+10 Rueda's first move was to eliminate reliance on a lone 10 and play with multiple creative players - with particular emphasis on the wings. He tried to move things forward from a strategic standpoint and then he was dropped after pretty much doing a great job. I liked that he was pragmatic and learned along the way, shifting to two strikers when he saw it got more out of JPA, for example. Given the style Lara's sides at the U20 level have played, I hope he continues in that tradition.

Of course that no team can succee only because refs mistake, and it's obvious that a team which coached by world class coach like Guus, must play good football. But they achieved their only winning matches in the WC only in 2002, and in the knock-out stage it was 80% because of the refs. I answered Crzd for not understand how crapy team like Korea reached the semi final. But to tell you the truth, if it wasn't on their home stadium, I don't think they would pass the first round. But I do agree that they played much better then previous WC's maybe to show their fans that they can play good in the WC.
Re: Colombia vs Nigeria- amistoso 2008 Guarin is not a stopper..... or a DM ... he plays there because its the only way to be on the NT he is a CM or a ARM taking him out of that position is just wasting what makes Guarin speacial which is his rocket foot... what u have left is a tall brute, that is sort of fast a better DM would be Abel or Carlos Sanchez.... also Edwin Valencia and Robayo of Millos should be given a shot but GUarin is not a DM, also he needs to get time at Porto or dropped from the NT he isnt even a bench player which is making me nervous hopefully he goes to another team to get more time because with Lucho at Porto Guarins never going to play

Creo que la ventaja es la relacion del exEnvigado con Lara, y como argumento futbolistico tiene que freddy es de una pegada mucho mas fuerte y segura que la de Carlos San cada DT tiene su gente de confianza, pero no me extranaria si Lara llama al exdanubio a su equipo.... me parece que el 11 de febrero es fecha FIFA, algun rumor sobre partidos para el 2009
