MLS Cup Tickets for Active Supporters

For those interested in going to MLS Cup 2005 and be in a supporters section (standing, etc.), keep your eyes peeled to this thread. It is my understanding that details will emerge in the next week or so on how to get tickets with your fellow supporters.

Yes, all of the active supporters of Metro (ESC, etc.) will be together if the Metro is in the final. And yes, they are planning on setting aside more than enough tickets for your purposes. And yes, you'll be with other active supporters if Metro isn't in the final - no need to worry about being told to sit down, etc.

And yes, this is different than getting the current MLS Cup ticket package. They are planning on setting aside sections just for the supporters. Details to follow as soon as they are available.

PM if you have any questions.

BTW, there needs to be a correction to the code for the airline tickets. Anyone who got it from me, please contact me so I can give you the new one.

Surely you're thinking of TSAB, "The 'Stars And Beyond"...POCM was the Revs 'zine (a nice product, but not exactly TSAB caliber...).

Re: MLS Cup Tickets for Active Supporters

BTW, I am going to have to stop posting on Big Soccer on Monday, so for future reference, please stay in touch with chazsoccer from here on out about the MLS Cup stuff.

Please sign up for the Supporters Cup and bring your boots! We did a dry-run with the Mystics on 10-15, and it was a blast.

The reason I won't be able to keep posting is that I am taking a job with FCD selling tickets, so if you have any ticket requests, I'll be happy to help you guys out. Just send me a pm. (I won't be posting, but I'll maintain my account.)

If you guys do win on Saturday, you probably want to go ahead and get your tickets, etc. - hotels and airfare will go quickly and get more expensive the longer you wait. And if you don't win, seriously, come on down anyway. You guys have been to these things before, and you know how much fun they are. Don't deprive the other supporters of your fun presence! (And if you haven't, you should make one!)

And you have to see PHP at some point anyway, right? What better game than the league final?

    color me :embarrassed:

Too many things in my head!

But I certainly meant the 'cool supporters of the Metrostars' part. Any of the old gang from the last millinium still hanging around?

Not of the gang you knew from the Supporters Summits...that gang of ESC honchos (save for Congorilla) gave up after years of non-support from the team, front office, and the ESC membership itself. Sad but true.

With Kev off doing the ticket sales thing (call him at 214-777-0225 if you haven't gotten your MLS Cup tickets yet)....

Here's information about the Supporters Summit.

    Folks - it's here!

The Supporters Summit and Tournament - a full weekend of your favorite activities.

:D Soccer, Socializing, and Tailgating. :D

Please go to the front page and register for the events you will be attending - we want to be sure we have enough for everyone!

There is a minimal fee that covers all the summit events and an add on of $5 for playing in the tournament.

    REGISTER

We have a full slate of events, some very cool door prizes, and it all starts 4 p.m Friday at the Arsenals favorite drinking hole - The Cypress Lounge in the Frisco Embassy Suites Hotel.

Saturday starts at 9 a.m. with the Supporters Tournament, a lunch provided by MLS League Offices, Player Appearances, Behind-the-scenes Stadium Tours, and the Supporters Summit. (And maybe even a USA watching party)

At 4:30 we take a short break to set everything up for the Silent Auction which starts at 6 p.m. at Dave and Busters. The Auction wraps up by 9 p.m. and its time for late night activities to start. Many Inferno members are planning to go to the nearby Irish Rover.

Tailgating on Sunday, followed by the game, and more tailgating - festivities start at 10 a.m.

The few of you that are going to make the game because it is the league championship despite the fact that your team is out. Feel free to ignore this thread if you're not one of them.

I have always thought that you guys were very good fans who tolerated more than your share of karmic abuse from the soccer gawdz.

Re: Party in Frisco - Metros going to MLS Cup?

    Some transportation updates!

    AIRPORT-TO-HOTEL

If you are not renting a car...make a shuttle reservation now! (online or via phone). Shuttles are about half the rate of Taxi's from the airport.

    Supershuttle
    1-800-BLUE-VAN (1-800-258-3826)
    Rates: Approximately $32-35
(additional passengers to same location get a discount)

Parties of 5-10 people can reserve an "Exclusive Van" that holds up to 10 people for a flat rate total of $80 + $1 per person fuel surchage (plus tip of course!)

    HOTEL SHUTTLES TO PHP

We contacted the following hotels and found that all of them have a shuttle available on a first com basis in a five mile radius of the hotel. The ones slightly further than 5 miles said that it was likely to be ok to take people to PHP, folks just need to ask the concierge ahead of time and 'reserve' a time.

Hampton Inn & Suites Frisco 4.4 mi
    Embassy Suites 4.5 mi
    Holiday Inn Express 4.6 mi
Marriott Plano at Legacy Park 5.8 mi
    Westin Frisco 6.1 mi
    Courtyard Plano Legacy 6.2 mi

    TAXI in Frisco

Also, people wanting to arrange for rides via Taxi can do so, but will have to call one of the taxi services ahead of time to arrange for a taxi. (it can take UP TO AN HOUR for a taxi to arrive).
