I'm researching my trip down to the motherland to see the game against the nads. Where does one buy tickets to the game? The only place I found was ticketsbis.com.mx. Is that a legit site?

Pretty sure you can use ticketmaster once the game is near enough.

Keep in mind that the credit card has to be registered in Mexico in order to order off ticketmaster mx. I remember when relatives tried to order tickets for a match here they were not able to do it on their cards.

Interesting. Thanks for the info. I guess I'll just have a cousin buy them for me and I'll just paypal them back. The nads prob buy them through their federation. I'm no nad.

They buy tickets through packages supplied by their federation. There is a gentlemen's agreement where each federation reserves a number of tickets for the opposing team.

Its probably a scalper thing. Like over here where they dont let you buy tickets to some big time concerts if your billing address is from out of state. They probably figure no one is going to try and scalp libertadores tickets, but a big national team game, then yea.

I'm also trying to plan a trip to Azteca for the Nads game. It would be my first trip out there. Any ideas or suggestions on where to stay? How to stay safe etc....? Thanks

Mexico City is probably the safest city in the country at the moment. I would feel much safer walking downtown Mexico City at night than say Detroit or New York. Just take precaution as you would in any other major city.

As for where to stay, it depends on your budget. You have a wide variety of hotels ranging from 5 stars to cheap hostels.

Yeah, and I'm pretty sure I bought tickets for the 2009 Mexico-U.S hex qualifier with my credit card too.

I would suggest you stay at a nice hotel. it may be a bit pricey but you will feel safe. When I went in 2010 I only rode in cabs so I don't know how "safe" public transportation is.

This, I did the same. Bought them online a while in advance and picked them up at a bookstore with a ticketmaster kiosk in it the day before the game. Greatest sporting event I have ever attended. The tren ligero was swaying after the game people were so excited.

OK, Ticketmaster Mexico will have 2 or 3 periods for the selling of the tickets... (Thats what they normally do)

-First is the "abonados" (people that bought the whole WCQ Tri package)
-Then people with BANAMEX Credit/Debit Cards for a few days
    -Then the general public.

Now that i think of it... I still have that photo of Mosco and I before the last game.... (not going to post it again tho) :p

so the seats that are available to the open public kinda suck. either in the nose bleeds or in the corner. i see some in Bajo D. i would want it more by the endline than sideline so i dont have to twist my neck all damn game. are these seat numbers closer to the 50's or a much lower number?

The mundomex travel agency has some Preferente Plus area ticket packages for about 3600-3700 pesos per person. Includes food, beverages, and a shuttle service between the stadium and a shopping center in Polanco.

I ended up getting Bajo L. Two tickets for 77 US bones. You can't beat that. Bajo D was almost twice as much. I think I'll get more activity from right footed corner kickers from L.

In my search I did see stubhub type of sites but I wouldnt trust them. At thsi point I would either pony up with what Manolo said ($300 per) or buy some tickets the day of. I would do the latter.
