they're desperately looking for a Central American team to face. Honduras and CR both couldn't come to an agreement with Ghana, so they're looking elsewhere, in this case its Guate.
Guatemala vs Ghana June 6th has been posted on the FIFA website. http://www.fifa.com/associations/association=gua/index.html
And still no mention of who the new DT will be...what a joke. If Guate shows up to the Ghana game and the DT is revealed like a new wrestler on WWE I would NOT be surprised.
Guatemala has played 3 times vs. CAF teams: Zambia (1988, 0-4), South Africa (2005, 1-1), South Africa (2010, 0-5). In 2014 Ghana will win comfortably no matter who plays or who's coach. Nothing has been published about the game by the Ghana FA though.
Maybe they're stalling because they're waiting on Memin to get his license situation straightened out? Maybe that's giving them too much credit but that really would be the best situation.
I think Cordero wants it and will get it. They are waiting for the tournament to end to announce. Coincidentally or not, Universidad has played like shit the last few games.
Meh. I've stated before that the coach is not as important as they make him out to be. Certainly not as important as the quality and quantity of available players at the competition level.
You and me both. But after the loss to Ghana I really think we need to start having some easy friendlies to start building experience and most importantly confidence
Yup. Its almost immediately after the World Cup, so ofcourse Honduras want to give their best players (who play abroad) a much deserved rest and summer vacation before their season starts up again. It'll most likely be an exclusively domestic squad with a lot of young talent. Somewhere to start/build for our 2018 campaign.
Enoc's ex-teammate at the U-20 World Cup, Marco Rivas, has been outstanding at that position with Municipal since Sergio Trujillo has been disabled. He's also been reliable at RB, I don't think I've ever seen him have a bad game. Among offensive mids, there's also Pedro Samayoa (2 caps) who is having a fine season with Xelajú MC.
Cant have a match against a team that doesnt exist. It's going to be Cordero or Sopengo once the season is over. Leaning more towards Cordero since he's already said there's talk, and Sopengo has said he hasn't heard a word from the Fed and that all he's focused on is Communicaciones
