Oguro's fresh air swing was hilarious (1:25 in the longer highlight clip), and it was our own fault for not capitalising on our many many attacks in the first half for letting Kashima back into the game. Endo coming on at the start of the second half changed things for the Antlers.

Not sure that we got the run of the refs (it was clearly a foul on Saito in the box), and the overall foul count would attest to that.

He is amazing and I think if Marinos continue to develop Yuji Ono the way they are doing right now, he will become a monster very soon

Been sayin' this BEFORE he even played that first J cup match with Marinos. Been sayin since he was playing in J2 actually. He could already go in Europe this summer if there was a smart club willing to take a super bargain.

I wonder if we've locked him into a multi-year contract as we have Ono Yuji. I don't trust Marinos front office to let him go for any more than a bargain, anyhow.

It's one thing I don't get about the J-League... Their best players leave for peanut transfer fees.

Well it is improving. Kiyotake was in the end done quite decent. Usami is binded to 3 mils fee and so on. As the value of Japanese players will rise so will their price tag

Well, Ono Yuji at least is with us til the end of 2015, iirc. Hopefully before then we can get a clue about how to go about this transfer business...

After the first couple of games when he was trying to do too much himself, he's now much more of a team-player and his game has improved dramatically for it. I'm enjoying watching Ono Yuji and Saito Manabu playing for us. What about when (if) Kota Mizunuma comes back from loan next season? ;)

1.3 million euros is pretty much chump change these days, but it's getting a little better.

Ono needs to learn the value of patience, when things start to go against him he lets his temper get the better of him. I think if we can make a couple minor moves we'll be in good shape next season.

Yeah, he was looking likely to get a second yellow before getting pulled in injury time last Saturday. On the positive side, it showed how much he wanted to win that game.

Shunsuke won 2012 Father of the Year from the Father's Day Council in Japan.

Must be a pain in the ass to have 3 sons. On the other hand, it's 3 potential football players in the future. :)
    THOMA GOL repped this.

No actually they are an elixir of life to the side. I agree however some younger guys would need to get their chance

Dutra is 38 for the love of Kami sama...

In attack I said it at the start of the season Marqinhos is a mistake. Have Oguro as a subsitute but bring some actual striker. Also really unwise to get rid of watanbe.

In other words this team needs imo 2 things

    1. a bit younger defence
    2. a classic striker.

What do they have in their youth program?

He's there because of Amano's injury. A 38 years old Dutra is better than Higa... That means a lot. And his playing good football.

Not disagree-ing there as their defence doesnt seem to be the problem

    but two things

To develop your own players is the goal. And if not at least having someone with a purpose and not just to fill in. So I would pick Higa over him any day even if it costs me some results. Higa will learn from it and he is far from a bad player

Second thing Yokohama F. Marinos have a problem with scoring goals as of late. So that is something they need to adress.
here again I would dare to say Higa adds more than the old Brazilian

    Dutra is awful.

He's slow, gets caught up field constantly and just overall can't defend anymore, Amano is missed.
The more important thing though is we have very little going forward Shunsuke, Maraquinos and even Oguro to a degree are getting old Shunsuke and Fabio :D in particular pick up injuries very easily.
