So, I've noticed we all like talking about non-Bosnian football- whether it be NT's or clubs. I thought a thread for football going around the world would be a good idea here. To kick it off, here's a terrible score from yesterday -

    Man United 8-2 Arsenal

 (epic facepalm) I'm surprised Arsene Wenger hasn't cimmited suicide yet. :p Also, I'd 8 2 be an Arsenal fan right now. Hahaha! *Props for the wonderful joke go to another forum.

Also, thoughts on the CL draw? And isn't the Europa League one coming soon?

All discussion on the world's football goes here.

    Thanks. :)

So what leagues do you watch other than the EPL? I like Bundesliga, MLS here and there, and Serie A are the ones I watch.

EPL has become my favorite since Dzeko moved to City but I'm a big fan of the Bundesliga. Bayern is my team there.

As far as the rest, I follow the MLS on and off, and occasionally check the Serie A.

    So pretty much the same.

Did you guys see how Netherlands were above Spain in the FIFA Rankings? Anyone know how this happened?

I think Spain is becoming a bit fatigue maintaining their high standards after winning everything and there is trouble between the Real and Barca camps in the national team. That has also happened to Holland a lot in the past. What to think about Euro 1996 when the black and white players stopped cooperating with each other. Edgar Davids was send away by Guus Hiddink, but still Holland suffered their biggest loss in it's tournament history at the hands of the English with 4-1. There is nothing so frustrating as a rotten group atmosphere for fans. Well we saw France at WC 2010. Remember Evra in that verbal fight with the assistant trainer of France in front of the camera's. Pathetic. France's ability was totally gone and became last in a group with South Africa in it. Nuff said. Mourinho also plays a part in Spain slipping I guess. Del Bosque will have his hands full to manage this. If it doesn't work, I think he should take drastic measure's. Maybe even choosing for one group over the other. Spain can win Euro 2012 with the Barca group if they must.

Spain has lost since 2008 from USA, Switzerland, Portugal (big), Argentina (big) and Italy. The last three all after the WC. That's weird for them.

Netherlands has lost since 2008 from Russia, Australia and Spain.

I believe the FIFA ranking counts results from the last 16 or 18 months, so the first two defeats for Netherlands are cancelled out, while for Spain only the USA loss is cancelled out. That's 4 losses vs 1 for Netherlands. They have gotten a lot of points for winning the WC but to stay at nr 1 you basically can't start losing 3 games in one year.

On another note, FIFA rankings are not to be taken to serious. Elo is better and Spain is still nr 1 on that one, but Netherlands is also very close to them on that one.

I don't think it's debatable that Spain has the most quality. What is debated is their group harmony. Both are needed to stay at the top of such lists.

Netherlands, Germany are ready to take their spot. Italy looks good again, France is pretty fresh. World does not stop spinning if they start fighting between themselves.

For example, there's no way Australia can be better than Turkey, Russia, etc. How can they be 16th??

Final Asia Cup. Just played this year. Turkey and Russia are not that good in qualification (maybe you get less points in qualification games than Confederation tournament?). Turkey is behind Belgium (although 1 less played game). Russia not doing better than Ireland and Slovakia in qualification. Australia has quite nice results against some strong teams actually. Won from Germany after the WC I think. Won from Netherlands between Euro 2008 and WC 2010. They have more of these kind of results and you gain a lot of points with that.

    This is the formula:

    Important:

So we see bigger ratios for confederation tournements. We have had the Asia Cup this year, we just had the Copa, so what that does is pushing Bosnia down. An advantage is being in Europe. If you win from strong teams you can gain a lot. Thats why Ghana despite doing very good is so low. They gain less as a result of competing against African country's who don't have a lot of points. Very unfair to them.

I think this is relevant because not only winning/drawing/losing is relevant but also how you win or lose. I saw that despite Bosnia doing good, they lost 3-0 to Romania. Things like that also push down country's, despite doing good overall.

Every ranking system has it's flaws and only have a certain value, but to be honest I like Elo the most I think in this area.

I told you guys that Manchester United is the team to beat this year and a lot of you have forgotten that United are the Champions not City! So please believe that United will dominate this season.

Anzhi's offering 87 million for Hulk, HOLY SHIT!

That's the club Bekric didn't want to go to and went to some club in Kazakhstan instead.

Wait a second, Bekric had a chance to go to Anzhi?

    LMAO!

BTW I heard the people in that area treat Anzhi as their national team lol

Aguero with a hat-trick, he still has nothing on Dzeko's 4 goals. :D lol Also, Dortmund lose 1-2 to Hertha, we just can't seem to play like the BvB of last season.

Has that to do with Sahin leaving? Not, partly or completely?

Dzeko & Aguero both at 6 goals
    Rooney at 7

I wish Dzeko would've played today.

It's alright they are just resting Dzeko because they care about him to much and next weekend he will dominate he will probably drop a 2 goals or 3.

Gomez getting spoon fed goals again

    So annoying.

Valencia beat Atletico Madrid yesterday through Soldado's goal - such an underrated player. Very nice build-up play:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wfPnZ1SgIA"]Valencia 1-0 Atletico Madrid Highlights - YouTube[/ame]

And even better goal. Beautiful stuff.

Juventus currently 1-0 up over Parma.. 30th minute.

About to head to bed but one last thing to note.. 10 of Juve's 11 starters today are Italian. Now that's domestic talent.

Sahin leaving definitely made an impact, but not completely so I'd say patly. We still Kagawa, Grosskreutz, Perisic and more but against Hertha, we lacked the last touch for the goal. Sahin could always give us the last touch before the goal, but we have to deal with it. We still have a good team, we just have to focus more.

Gomez is always there when weak teams have to be played. Go's sky high into overall stats, but he is gone when magic has to happen. When the hard teams have to be played and something has to be created out of nothing. Then he becomes pretty worthless. The stats also don't show how many chances he misses. I have seen him score a 9 in ratings and miss 5 sitters. Yeah. Well. That's not how I do the counting.
