I'm not sure if you're talking about my post specifically, but actually it seems to be a mixture of simple logic and hints that I've seen from Urawa's statements themselves (making sure it won't happen again, etc.) I mean, unless you think those fans never had a chance to talk with someone from Urawa at all? I'm not sure what's "conspiracy-like" there. You think they disbanded and therefore they don't go to the stadium anymore? It's possible, but I wouldn't say it's "a conspiracy" to think that they'll attend matches normally from now on.
I think he did OK. He had some good occasions and probably should have scored after CK. I remember when he's got 3 assists two weeks ago but the reviews of his play was medicore at best in Japanese press So if don't score he's average by those standards. Nonethelss it looks like Reds made some progress compared to the last season - keeping a team like Kawasaki which scored in every league game so far away from Reds goal for long stretches of time when it seemed like Frontale didn't have idea how to break it down surely looked promising for the latter part of the season. Suddenly Reds defence become one of the best in the league. And huge props to Petrovic who finally got his first win over Frontale after he started his coaching career in Japan. It took him only 14 games
You took conjecture somebody else started, and added a conspiracy theory to it with this statement: What you're engaged is nothing more than rumor mongering.
wait, what conjecture? The fact that some Urawa fans disbanded? I thought it was on the press? As for the conspiracy, all right, I guess if that's it I'll take my conspirator stamp this time
Conjecture was that the disband was in name only. Which you proceeded to treat as a fact and then made up another story on top of it. As if the supporters clubs and management are all in cahoots or something. It's eye-roll inducing.
I never ever implied they are "in cahoots". Why the hell would Urawa be happy about what happened? It is definitely true - and it's Not me who's saying this - that they tolerated their behaviours way more than they should have. Let's not play the "maybe they didn't notice" card now because that would be eye-rolling for sure. If we want to call that "being in cahoots" then we could call it like that, but I didn't say it. As for the disbanding, so you think they disbanded and stopped attending matches too? All right then, not a big loss I guess. I just thought that it was possible that they talked with Urawa about what was the best thing to do. Which, again, shouldn't have been read maliciously as being in cahoots. I'm just doubting that these people don't attend matches anymore.
I'm not questioning anything in your first paragraph. Nor am I interested in protecting Urawa -- frankly, I don't like the club. I just don't see the need to pretend things that only happened in your imagination have a basis in reality. Like I said, it puzzles me how this happens on all topics Japanese. I have a theory that it's related to the language barrier. Most people can't read or understand any Japanese, and they know most others can't either... so they seem to think it gives them free reign to imagine whatever they like and engage in rumor mongering. After all, there's scant anyone that can refute them -- and even if somebody does; that refutation almost always comes in the form of a Japanese language source. Which they, and their audience, cannot understand and simply ignore. I don't know if that theory applies here; I don't know your aptitude w/Japanese language. My own is marginal at best, but I'm capable of gleaning the facts from news stories (or player blogs). And thus capable of identifying how Western sources fabricate all sorts of completely imagined bs and create tropes like sexualizing everything or giving the impression that Japan is proud and nationalistic (most ironically pushed by 2 of the most Ultra-Nationalist groups on the planet - US and Australia). As for the disbanding, I think it's exactly what it says. Ten groups disbanded; it didn't say all those people would stop going to games. Or that those groups were banned. Though I would expect w/o that cultural catharsis element some of them will be less likely to attend over time.
I can read japanese having studied it in university, there are some of my translations around the forum, but I often have to check kanjis, etc. Basically, I kinda suck, so I spend more time the more the matter feels important. I can sympathize with what you said but be sure it's not my case nor my intent. Again, you're trying to read something malicious in my words even when I kept saying it's not the case. Like, if I claimed that "bah, they're going to go back to the usualf stuff soon!" - nope. I can see a misunderstanding though about me writing that the disbanding was "only in name". When I said that I thought that maybe Urawa adviced them to disband, it means what it means. Not that those people were refusing to disband in the first place. Just that after the incident, it seemed logical to me that Urawa's staff had a couple of words with those people - especially on the light of Urawa's statements. And especially since we're talking about 10 groups in the very same days. If it is my imagination, then so be it, of course, but I am not sure on what basis you can claim to know what is reality unless you work for Urawa. It's the same for the "conjecture-thing": if you read the article, it exactly says "今後は、差別撲滅に向けた取り組みを含め浦和レッズのために行動していきます」とコメントがあったことも併せて発表された。 " And as I wrote, I just meant that I would be surprised if they stopped attending games. Maybe they pretend to not know each others anymore now? :/ I guess they still hang together, come on. As for Japan being "proud and nationalistic", that definitely seems a pretty bad generalization and I don't think it applies to any country actually. Of course, certain things happened here so - like in every country - those people too do exists - you may want to have a look at the last elections results for more about that (nope I'm not referring to Abe). Hopefully I've cleared my posts =p
ugh, Parrot, you managed to post Just when I cut the thread. Please Copy-paste your post https://www.bigsoccer.com/community/threads/political-situation-in-japan.2003876/ here as I'll have to delete it. I will leave you a couple of days at most to do it. It was my mistake I guess, so I apologize to those who open the thread for Urawa's stuff
http://www.urawa-reds.co.jp/topteamtopics/ミハイロ-ペトロヴィッチ監督-契約更新のお知らせ/ Contract with Petrovic extended for the next season.
Some guys from Brazil in the final of the video. Washington there? Alex (FG Gifu now) with the cross and Tulio with the pass (header) for the goalscorer.
Yes, you're right. It was from Reds vs Gamba game from the last game of 2006 season. The three Brazillians in that team were Washington, Ponte and Nene in defence.
What's up with the attendance obsession ? It reminds me when I-don't-remember-who was asking on every topic how much were JLeague players paid.
I was just in doubt if the game had attracted 56-57 if it were played in the good old days were Reds were drawing 45 in average, but then realised that the league record were around 60.
Not really an obsession, but there are few things beating going to a packed and/or nice stadium! So its kinda sad to see the many Banpaku's/Mizuho's/Atsubetsu's in use instead of the likes of Sapporo Dome or Toyota Stadium. And almost just as sad to go see a game in a 50 000 stadium with only 6000 supporters...
This season is reallu sad at Mizuho the gates are really awfull there, hopes they pull themselves together to build a new ground there.
