If the Union win on Tuesday, the next game is at the winner of DC/Richmond on 6/5. See: http://www.ussoccer.com/Tournaments...012-Lamar-Hunt-US-Open-Cup/2012-Schedule.aspx and http://thecup.us/2012-us-open-cup-bracket/.
Well the precedent has been set, so if it's Richmond we can always wave the almighty dollar their way, a la Seattle.
This team spending money rather than receiving it. Do they know how to do that? Also the draw doesn't seem to be so random. New England would play NYRB, Philly/DC, Portland/Seattle, FC Dallas/Houston. Seems like they geographically draw teams together then just decide home/away at random.
Oh good. June 5th is the Transit of Venus. The next one is not until December 2117. Now, I will not have to miss this one. My great grandchildren will have to make the decision in 2117 if MLS plays an August to May season then.
Aell we wont see nowak for this one. He is suspened for this game due to the red card he got from the last us open cup match against dc last year. Same goes for valdes. Also non-amature teams can only have 5 international players on their game day roster.
So what type of lineup do we expect? Pajoy - Martinez Adu Daniel - Marfan Okugo Garfan - Albright - Williams - Gaddis MacMath
I'd say we see most of our starters but switch maybe Pfeffer or Hernadez in for either Daniel or Marfan
It's a known fact that Nowak and Valdes were both ejected from the game against DC last year. Since this will be our next USOC game, then they would not be available. (game report from last year: http://thecup.us/2011-us-open-cup-q...tand-unions-shorthanded-rally-advance-on-pks/)
I know that they both were ejected, but can you (or anyone) specifically point to a rule or a report that says that they are ineligible to participate on Tuesday?
Technically, last year's game was NOT a US Open Cup game. It was a qualifier, which I think MLS organized, NOT necessarily USSF. Whether that makes a difference I dunno.
I am. Lot C, baby. Assuming they don't open up the STH lots to the general public. But I'll be grilling somewhere.
I can't believe they don't post a .pdf of the US Open Cup Handbook. Is it really some National Secret that has to be protected? Even if you google about it, you'll read about people and their quest to find a copy of this, apparently, coveted piece of paper.
My older son plays soccer and LaCrosse. We went to the second NCAA match at PPL park on Sunday after a soccer tournament. It was strange to be sitting on the side opposite the bridge, seeing the river end empty of fans and TIFO, and seeing LaCrosse lines on the pitch. They covered the soccer lines with green paint and laid down white LaCrosse lines. It will be interesting to see how it looks on Tuesday. My guess is it will not have grown enough for the LaCrosse lines to be completly gone. But, I expect that by the next home MLS match, they will be completly gone. Also, the LaCrosse goal areas were really dug up. It will be interesting to see how well the grounds crew do fixing that. Finally, they did not serve any beer. I wonder if that is an NCAA rule. Or, because there were two separate crowds, they may have decided that it would be too difficult to stop and then start again. There were probably 10,000 people there who semed to be having a great time. Hopefully some will come back for a Union match and have a fantastic time. It would have made sense for the Union to offer half price tickets to a Union match to anyone that paid for tickets to the LaCrosse. I am really looking forward to next Tuesday.
