This is the story of the closest Bundesliga-Final off all time:

Until the 90. minutes it seems that Schalke is still on their way to get the first Meistertitel since 1958. But within 5 seconds everything changed. Firstly Balakov scored for Stuttgart so they could stay in the 1. Bundesliga, then Zickler scored an awesome goal and Bayern was on their way to get another Meisterschale.
    On the video:
You see Hitzfeld who is celebrating the goal of Zickler, then Uli Hoeness jumps into Hitzfeld saying that Schalke lost in Stuttgart, Markus Hörwick gets crazy and Scholli cannot believe it...

In the first half everything seems to be allright for FCB. Schalke is still shocked because of the last game and Bayern seems to get a draw in Hamburg. But then Schalke did a great comeback and finally got a 5:3 against Unterhaching knowing Bayern had to loose against HSV to get champion.

In the 90. minute Babarez scored the goal for HSV and everybody on the FCB bench was totally shocked. In Schalke a misinformation that the game in Hamburg is over makes the crowd go totally wild. They get on the field celebrating their first Meisterschaft...since 1958. But then the people realize that it´s not over yet: They show the last minutes live on their video wall and see how Andersons free kick ruines everything...

Note: This is not the live-reporter :(
Side fact: -The guy in Schalke dressed in yellow is Möllemann (a famous german politician) who did a parachute-jump before the game. A year later he comit suicide via parachute.
    - It was the last game of Schalke 04 in the Parkstadion. At least they could celebrate for a little while...
    - 4 days later Bayern Munich won the Uefa Champions League

I was in the Dortmund Westfalenstadion that day.

When we heard about Andersson's goal, we partied like we won the title. Scheisse fans were still crying on their way home the next day.

We didn't win the title, but it was great to laugh at the Scheisse fans crying like little girls.

I still laugh uncontollably when I hear someone reference "Meister der Herzen". I tell people that's German for "Schalke - First Loser".

It was the one day since 1992 I actually said "Thank you Bayern......."

And I say "Thank you BvB" for Ottmar Hitzfeld. He was really a great coach and is clearly one of the best trainers. I hope that he will come back as a trainer someday.
