I've heard of him, just from random international matches...not sure how he's played at the club level....6'3 though, i like.

pretty solid colombian CB, would have been better to purchase him a couple of seasons ago when he was class

colombian. not a bad player when he was younger. I dont think he as at his best right now and he wouldnt keep up with the pace.
They are just trying to unload him and I hope we dont take him.
    waste of money.

Anyone else nervous about Rooney's injury and Oba's escape clause?

Nah, they have Tevez and they only need a stopgap. If Oba goes to Manyoo simply to be a six-week cover striker and then never see the field again, he's a moron.

I think Gamst would be the perfect replacement for Dyer. I wonder if BSA rates him.

Yeah, I love that guy. Incredible two-footed player who would be a big time upgrade over Dyer imo. I doubt that we will have a chance if Arsenal are in for him though. Once we get back to Europe Big Sam will have a much better hand to go against the big boys in situations like this.

Go ahead BSA and prove me wrong! :)

MGP would be an awesome signing for anyone. He's class all the way. I would say that I don't know if he's got the steel to play with NUFC but he's playing with Blackburn who for most intents and purposes have similar outlooks, expectations, etc. I like him and I would think that most clubs would be happy to have him.

Yepes is OK... I wouldn't bet the house on him. He is good in the air attacking and defending, but I don't know that he's got the speed to deal with some of the prems faster little buggers.

Yepes is alright. PSG right Back, Bernard Mendy, would be an amazing signing. He played under Big Sam at Bolton as well.

    From NUFCBlog:

"Looks like Sam is in for Abdoulaye Faye of Bolton - the center-back who played well against us on Saturday. Sam also wants to bring in a couple of players in the next few days so we’ll have to stay tuned."

Let's just become the ManU retirement home.

Solano linked to West Ham switch
I don't want to see him leave but aleast he gives a respectable reason.

Re: One more, eh? The Last Summer Transfer Thread

-Yepes - glad it fell through if there was even a chance.
-Neville - No thanks! i thought Sam didnt like short backs.
-Faye - Played well against us? did i watch a different game? i think both center backs played horribly against us in the 1st half.

Solano - it will be a sad day when he leaves. I respect and appreciate how he spoke out about his desire to leave and his reasons. He didnt make it this f*cuking soap opera Dyer did. He didnt b*tch and moan and he even played for us last saturday. You can tell he doesnt really want to leave (i wouldnt be surprised if his wife is using the kids to screw him over) and he truly believes things are looking up at newcastle.

BW, your new avatar is so much nicer than the old one! :D

Also, I agree with Zoom that Faye looked like crap on Saturday.

As far as Nobby; He has always been a loyal player and I think if he wants out with such a good reason we should let him go. However it should be to a London club willing to pony up some cash or player exchange. No way should we let him go for free. At least not to those pieces of trash at West Ham.

Ah well, he'll always be a magpie in my eyes.

That's why I got Shearer even after he'd retired.

At any rate, Carroll's been loaned to PNE until the end of the year. I think it's a great move given they lost Nugent to Pompey. Should give him plenty of first-team action at a quality level. He should play in their CC tie today agaisnt Morecambe.
