No. I'm sure they will put their interns on it.
Or Stern, he's there and is a soccer guy.

Mainly, they say, it's a re-focus to the core sports... Cowboys, Rangers, Mavs.

I don't understand how they can be any more "focused" on the big 3 more than they already are. o_O

Oh good. Now we can probably have more in depth analysis of what Pilar's problem was with Deion's house decorations. Maybe even better, we can get some of those blurred body part pics of Darvish's ex.

Oh well. I only went to ESPNDallas to read 3rd Degree anyway. Cowboys and Rangers news is better on their respective SBNation blogs. I don't watch basketball. ESPN has almost turned the corner on being an all access sports/athlete gossip site, so I'm not surprised.

Let's just hope ESPN Radio doesn't follow suit and squash the Saturday AM show...ironic that the only Dallas radio station with a dedicated soccer show (that I know of) doesn't have room for FCD on their website. Oh well, I've been using foxsports/foxsoccer more these days anyway since they have a lot less sh!t (e.g. videos, expanding ads) on their pages.

My guess is that time slot is purchased by the folks that produce the show. so it has nothing to do with ESPN wanting soccer content, just wanting the dollar. Could be wrong though.

Can anyone provide clear info about the future and anticipated return of:
    1. David Ferriera
    2. Ricardo Villar
    and 3. Ugo Ihemelu

If no time line is forthcoming, is there some understandable reason as to why?

I was hoping this summer, and I think SH was saying so back in the early spring... But I haven't heard any updates.

SH's latest comments don't do anything to make you feel better. Kept saying "I don't know" when asked about each injured guy, like a robotic politician. So unless he's keeping things close to the chest, doesn't look good anytime soon.

If we were to compare. What current/former players around 32 have sustained a significant injury, been out for a year or more and then came back as strong, or at all, before said injury?

I suspect that the above are correct. I was just wanting "official" confirmation. You notice how quiet we been on the acquisition / replacement front. I know that some will say that Oscar deleted the speed dial to Colombian teams, but I fear differently. If I am a Brazilian or Colombian team/agent/player, I do a little homework before coming to MLS. What do you think the word on the street is about playing in MLS as a chance to advance your soccer career? We have plenty of people that can habla/falla and have worked on the deals that brought so many of our former guys from South America. As I predicted a long time ago, I think that it is going to be tougher to convince talent to come and risk a career ending injury in the Hacker's League.

(Maybe we will need to put Parrot on a plane to explain to them that it is all BS and that the only reason for those injuries is that SH towel snaps them in the locker room.)
    jamezyjamez repped this.

He must be... Otherwise, that's a DP spot we're just sitting on.

You're assuming we'd be able to find a new DP that we could a) pay for and b) fit into SH's system.

Unfortunately, I think this may be our achilles heel (no pun intended). Year after year, we seem to have more hamstring problems than most teams (not this year, thankfully, but we have even worse problems this eyar) and the past two years have been an abject disaster from a medical fitness perspective.

The mishandling of David Ferreira's injuries is textbook incompetence.

I'm thinking that this is the point of FIFA 2012 where I would "Upgrade Medical Staff"...

The DMN today discussed this and the team looked into if they were doing anything wrong leading to injuries. The verdict was no all the injuries were concussion and tackle (bad) related. This seems about right to me but I still wonder about fitness in giving up second half goals. That could also be related to starting backups and not having those backups available off the bench. Of course some poor trades (Avila) have also limited the backups.
