Great, maybe he'll move over to the Macedonia forum then.

The zeal some Germans display on this issue is slightly worrying, though, especially in cases where it is of no significane (like in that half-wit ridden WR thread).

The majority of people who bring this up on internet message boards just want to piss of Germans. In the ends, it's FIFA's decision, and they count the titles, so the argument is over. In the Olympics the current German team does NOT carry the record of the West German in official statistics. Nobody in German cares and they include them anyway in German publications. I actually participated in discussions like this in the past on BS, but in the end it's rather futile.

So? Why wouldn't someone Jewish normally not root for Germany in sports?

To quote a former classmate of mine: "Good grief, talk about bearing a grudge!"

I haven't experienced this before... I have only noticed it in the Olympics.

The guardian's writer's give their top moments of the tournament.

Paul Doyle thought a certain american was the best player :

    Player of the tournament

Landon Donovan – Seldom taken seriously by snooty Europeans, he exuded a verve and creativity that many of the old continent's stars lacked, and typified the positive attitude with which his team played even in the face of ridiculous refereeing.

This article has nothing to do with us except using players and system as examples for the FA to aspire to.

Nothing to do with anything and doesn't really fit in anywhere I guess ;).. but I just looked up at what age Klose and Podolski came to Germany (you know the no end discussion if Germany stole them from Poland) interesting fact that was news to me was that Podolski's and Klose's fathers both where professional soccer players but way way more interesting their mothers both played handball and actually played together in Poland's national team.

Just goes to show that there was a big conspiracy that involves Germany kidnapping Poland's brightest football talents (both genetically engineered, of course) to gain an advantage at big tournaments between 2002 and 2010.

We tried to steal Polanksi as well, but he proved to be too loyal.
