Actually I think the chants from various matches from
Gooners upset about the club not spending money, while
making huge profits year after year and raising tickets 2 years straight.
Now I'm not a vocal intensity expert, but those are visiting fans
and more than just a few.

    @ Fulham match
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21NKegr-l5k"]Arsenal fans singing Spend some f**king money at Fulham - YouTube[/ame]

This quote sums it up, unfortunately,
"Fans pay Harrods' prices, but Arsenal shop in Primark"

P.S. I don't want Wenger gone, just can't be all attacking and passing offensive footie, no rock back 4, and paper thin depth when
the annual injury plague hits our beloved North London side.

I didn't either until last spring. But then it occurred to me that it's faintly ridiculous to be carrying a rabbit's foot in the hope of Arsene Wenger changing his MO. It's more likely Charlie Sheen will be joining a monastery.

Wenger would be like the hot gf you broke up with for something really menial or stupid (like scrunching the toothpaste rather than rolling it) and soon after wanting her back in the worst way after you realized the grass was not as green as you thought.

And you'd never get her back.

i hear ya and that's the same worry i have, but if we did bring on a new manager - could things get any worse than a struggle to finish within the top 4? other than the first month of the season, AW has done a pretty solid job of maintaining a thin roster of brittle players and keeping us in the hunt for CL qualifying.

the thing to keep in mind is if/when AW goes to Penn State or wherever, there's going to be several other replacements etc all these people who ask for AW's head don't understand that there will be a need to replace several staff members and i am sure there will be a significant change in the roster as well.

it's not like arsenal is going to end up like Barcelona, when Guardiola took over Riijkard. a new manager is not going to turn us back into a competitive top 7 team in europe like we were when we had Fab4, Nasri, Kolo and Clichy around...

our current position in the table is where many/most of us expected us to be at the start of the season - so we should be content about where we are now - especially given the fact we have no fullbacks, no JW19 and we still have Song and RVP in good health.

I don't think we need a new manager yet, but somebody has to put the one we've got on a leash. Right now he's all bark and no bite.

Lucky that Wenger's plane doesn't have to cross Rwanda's airspace on the way to Nigeria. Kagame knows how to take care of people that get in his way.

I can just see it now, "oh my dear Wenger, you brought on Arshavin
in the 2nd half and it will cost you. Release the hounds."

I actually was listening the other day to someone on NPR who had met him. Described him as brilliant, efficient but also ruthless. My understanding is that his coming to power ended the genocide, although he has had his own wars and been accused of war crimes himself.

That genocide was brutal. I remember hearing live coverage of it on the BBC. The anchor asked if the weapons embargo had any positive effect, and the reporter replied no, because they were mostly using clubs and machetes.

    bruh ????????

    WTF?...you speak da kine now???...B..R..A..H ...no U, silent 'H'..;):D

I will always remember the first 20 minutes of last Sunday's match,

K:thecore & I, were in communication, and he called the Honolulu office
of our local Time Warner to find out why we weren't getting the match
on our local FOX...as soon as he said his 'Specialist' ,was talking pidgin,
I just had to to accept the fact that we were f*ked.

On the bright side, the 'Specialists' did show the Fox test card for only
20 minutes....... before finding the right button to push.

And..... speaking of the silent 'H'......Eddie says it so well.

apparently kroenke is bidding for the Dodgers. the price tag is like a $1B. how does he do that?

if he gets the Dodgers, Arsenal are not only going to not see any cash from the owners, dividends are going to be pulled out (my guess) to pay the interest costs for the LBO that will be Dodgers.

there is no way, kronks by himself can buy the Dodgers without massive debt financing.

perhaps he sells out to usmanov?

I don't think you necessarily have to worry about that. Look at the list of stuff Kroenke owns: In addition the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche, Kroenke owns or controls the NFL’s St. Louis Rams, Arsenal of the English Premier League, MLS’s Colorado Rapids and the Pepsi Center in Denver.

Add in the fact that Forbes values the Dodgers as the #3 MLB team: Los Angeles Dodgers- Revenue $246M and Operating Income of $32.8M, and I think it's a pretty safe investment for him.

This guy has a lot of irons in the fire, and I don't think he's stealing from one to pay for another. Maybe you're right that we're not going to see a cash infusion from Kroenke, but Arsenal haven't operated like that since I can remember. It's always been a club set up to pay for itself.

Arsenal are a cash cow. There is like £100m in cash sitting in arsenal's accounts. A buyout of the dodgers would require significant cash upfront. I don't think Kronks has much cash leftover after buying the $800m Rams. As the dollar gets stronger arsenal's cash is going to look more and more enticing.

If I were kroenke, I would rather draw down surplus cash rather than pay high interest costs. I don't think Kroenke is going to be able to borrow at 4%. And then I might use up some of The £35m profits each year to pay any extra interest costs.

In fact I might not even care about falling out of the champions league if I could recoup £15m from summer tours and more more from new shirt deals and other commercial deals.
