What co-marketing/co-branding nonsense is this about?

It should be said, we are tied for 2nd. And, the worst that can happen should Man U win Monday is that we will be tied for 3rd. It's better than the alternative!

Well he doesn't have everything he wants just yet, still a need for a playmaker if possible.

not sure where to put this so i'll just leave it here:

Former Tottenham skipper Ledley King, now an ambassador at White Hart Lane, reveals ex-Spurs boss Harry Redknapp tried to tempt him out of retirement to play for QPR last season.

"He didn't manage to get hold of me," King says. "I wouldn't have done it though. I played at Tottenham my whole life and it would have been a bit silly to try and come back knowing I can't do what I want, play the way I like to play. I have barely kicked a ball since I retired. And I also have got such a great affiliation with Tottenham, so I would like to leave it there."

Anyone know the status of Lamela and Eriksen? Are they reporting to their respective countries for wcup qualifiers?

Yes, both Lamela and Eriksen have been named to their respective national teams for the upcoming WCQs.

Another reason why Bale's worth a little more to RM than may at first be apparent. He will not miss as many matches for WCQ, though in the current round he will miss matches. Chances are, he will not be playing in the next rounds of qualification, nor World Cup, nor much more than early rounds of other competitions. He will be available for matches the other top players are not available for.

why not? he wont be playing in world cups but why not the qualifiers? Even if they are mathematically out of it teams usually still name their top squads to win some respect and Wales has a wealth of young talent that they might make a wcq in the next cycle and the more time the kids play together the more likely it is

It is a probabilistic approach. Over the next decade, how many summers will Bale be playing in international competitions? Two or three? Compare that to a top Italian, Spanish, English, or German player. They will play in all 10, assuming they are sufficient to team needs. So, Bale gets more rest and is more often available for when Wales is knocked out early. If Wales manages some success, he is no worse off than other young talents. But, over the decade, he will certainly get more rest and be more available than a comparable player from those other nations.

or he becomes another Kaka... ;)

of course the Welsh can't freeze out Bale no matter how bad he is playing well because they are the Welsh and not Brazil

equally mystifying is why, being locked, you can still post on it.

yeah, i realized why i could ... what i hadn't noticed was that the madridista who'd posted before me was a mod, as well. the fact is that i didn't realize mods could post in locked threads in forums in which they are NOT mods, so i hadn't even taken a moment to notice his status.

not so mysterious after all, then, i guess.

Danny Rose has been given assurances he is first choice which makes me nervous when playing against teams with quality.
