Rumor of a US tour this summer from EPL talk http://www.epltalk.com/tottenham-hotspur-is-planning-us-2012-summer-tour-says-report-38992
Hope they come somewhere near me - even Chicago would be fine. If not it looks likeI'll be going to Baltimore (the worst shithole ever)
Come to AUS again please, I know we aren't one of the fashionable destinations for pre season tours but it would be nice to have some close Spurs games.
Well I'd be glad to carpool and consolidate hotels (I'm sure YIA would too) if we all had to go to Baltimore (or Chicago, Indianopolis, St. Louis, etc)
Um... what do folks have against Baltimore? Inner Harbor (National Aquarium, American Visionary Arts Museum, USS Constellation, etc.) Orioles (if you want more sports), good hotels across the street from M&T Stadium, excellent restaurants all over the place, Walters Art Museum, and so forth...
Aside from the Inner Harbor and Fells Point, a small radius around Patterson Park, and a few other isolated pockets of civilization, Baltimore is a sh*thole. I've never seen a TV show realistically portray a city as well as The Wire portrayed Baltimore. A pretty unintentionally comedic moment when, in the King's Speech, they described Wallis Simpson as a "Baltimore socialite."
i'd love it if the 3rd city was somewhere in the midwest. KC, St Louis, Indianapolis, or Chicago would be great
It will probably be Chicago, but St. Louis would be great. Would get people from all over the midwest and some in south as well. Good place to expand the fan base that is not really considered by other clubs. Plus it is the closest to me of the options so far.
took Amtrak from Charlotte to Baltimore a few years ago for the Chelsea-Milan game...stayed in the inner harbour, went to fell's point and had a blast. If Spurs play in Baltimore i will do the same again. It was great to see the inner harbour taken over by football fans...even the chelsea ones. absolutely love The Wire...pulling into Baltimore on the train the row houses looked exactly like those in the series.
When the dates are confirmed we'll see what's what. A BS Spurs meet up should be on the cards if it is Baltimore.
Our youngsters knock out Liverpool 1-0 in the NextGen. The team was a bit depleted from players out on loan or injured, so we had a few too many 16/17 year olds and midfielders playing in the back 4, but they did the job. Liverpool tried to win with athleticism and hard running but I was pleased with how our kids kept trying to pass it out from the back regardless of the pressure. Next up is the winner of Ajax or Barcelona in the semi finals
Ah, you beat me to it. I just posted it in the vid thread, should have checked here first. I love the glass breakage at the very end.
We withdrew from the next gen competition for breach of competition rules. Read in another blog or something, it appears it's because we fielded a young French player on trial. The competition do not allow trial players to play.
yeah it was a 15 year old sub we bought on and he did setup the goal with a shot. Poor from the admin side of things, the team is the only unbeaten side in the competition and deserved to play Ajax/Barca in the semi.
I'm expecting you to speak at Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony level speeds. Cleveland! The LA one would make more sense for me to go to, but I'm gathering that a lot more of us will be at the Baltimore one, so I'm going to try for that. Though, I have to say I'm utterly fascinated at the prospect of sitting in the stands with Hauler out in LA. Scared, and utterly fascinated.
