This made me laugh: Sporting: Alvalade tunnel lined with ... sunflowers http://www.futebol365.pt/noticias/artigo.asp?ID=52425&CAT=Sporting&CODID=3176563
Remember this? Just want to correct something. Fixed. Kuweiti financial group interested in acquiring a position in Sporting SAD.
What's wrong with this club? I try not to be negative, but it's like we have a completely different squad from last fall.
The ref had a lot to do it in this game, but not being sharp is the main cause for several players under-performance.
I agree with you there. But I'm starting to wonder if we should go back to a 4-1-3-2 or a 4-1-2-1-2....put Ribas and RVW out there at the same time. Mind you that leaves only Rubio as a sub, unless you can consider Carrillo as a ST/Winger. An attacking midfield of Izmailov, Matias, Elias should be dominant against any team except Porto and Benfica, and yet it seems like we aren't getting everything we should be out of them. One thing is for sure, I can't wait to get Fito back.
I think I had jinxed him when I got his jersey in October. He lasted a few more weeks before he got injured and from there on the team has tanked Thankfully he's now back but will require some time to get back to game form. Hopefully his return provides the team with the stability that they've been lacking as of late...
Rather than Troll Benfica's forum. Let's all admire this amazing goal by Semak against Benfica. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyMkizbSjMo"]Semak S. Amazing Goal FC Zenit Saint Petersburg vs S.L. Benfica 15.2.2012 Champions League - YouTube[/ame]
The Sporting Fans Only Thread [R] Some of you fans are abusing the spirit of this thread and in doing so threatening its closure. To give you some history behind its formation it was to be an haven from all the trolling against Sporting and its good name that was rampant here on BS just a few years back. Don't screw this up by talking smack about the other clubs here inviting the trolling that may show up as a response. Please do that in any other thread. Thanks Força Sporting
What other thread? You mean go to FC Porto's or Benfica's forum and posting videos or rejoicing in there defeat in front of them there. No, sorry, no. This forum itself is supposed to be a haven for Sportinguista's regardless of the thread. This thread should be where we can speak our mind more than anywhere else.
Sure we can speak our minds anywhere in BS, in fact there was some opposition to the fans only thread throughout BS then, you weren't a BS member yet, but only because of dedicated mods such as Força Sporting and JuveLeo did these threads survived by removing posts, issue warnings to trolls and so on. These threads were not to be used to trash other clubs with " diplomatic immunity " if I can use that anology, but to be free of constant trolling. Like umdemelo pointed out, there are other threads designed for "smacking" . You like that sort of thing , go there and have a ball Vivo' Sporting
Where are these mods now? I never said I like "smacking". I like posting things such as Semak's goal against Benfica without some Benfica replying with "your team is shit, you're in 4th place, you just fired a coach you hired 7 months ago, where's your mighty RVW now?"...it's a goal worth admiring, regardless of the opposition and has nothing to do with smack....in fact I even said in the post "rather than troll benfica's forum, let's all admire". As if to say, I'm calling attention to the goal, a goal that if I posted it elsewhere people would not see it. Aside from Sporting, Roma, Netherlands and one other thread, I don't post outside club-team specific forums, nor do I view threads outside those. I know you do get around though, but what's the likelihood that Nate, Z, Heavy or any other Sportinguista sees that goal that I want to share, probably very little, but I bet 5 Benfiquistas jump all over me for posting it. But hey, no problem, I won't post anything in here then. There's nothing in here that I couldn't post in another thread or make another thread about, which really means this thread is redundant and should be closed, because if it's not about immunity from trolls, what is it about, a place to discuss Sporting without trolls posting within it? Last I checked anyone can post in this thread, and I really doubt any moderator is going to ban any non-Sportinguista from posting in here.
That's right, we don't have that Sporting moderator support anymore. I guess my advice, if I can give you one, is to start a thread in the Sporting forum entitled "The other teams Thread ". From a Sportinguista point of view you will be expected to lay the dirt on those clubs with a certain degree of liberty. Can you do it without retort ? Probably not, but at least being in the Sporting forum you'll get a lot more support from our guys
My View: BigSoccer is infested with trolls to the point where its almost unbearable. I don't blame Guarda Redes, because quite frankly, 95% of Porto and Benfica fans spend their time in our forum abusing us and trolling the shit out of our board. Are you guys suggesting we just sit there and let them take over? F' that. F*CK PORTO AND BENFICA. I'm glad Porto got mopped. F'n losers.
In this thread I rather talk about how great Sporting is than talk how bad the other teams are. Let them troll, it shows how small they are. There's no need to lower ourselves to their level. We're better than that I hope. Sporting p'ra sempre
In all honesty, I can deal with the trolls pretty easily as long as posts are reported. The big problem comes when any of us engage the trolls and keep the nonsense going. Thats real talk. Also, understand that trolling goes both ways. Don't troll the other boards and the bullshit is less likely to come here. I think some smack is ok, but when it goes too far and contains no talk of football that needs to be squashed. Recent trolling has been dealt with, but it also must be understood that these are Open Forums and Porto/Benfica supporters can come here to talk football. Seems like Portuguese fans are much more interested in the goings on at other clubs in the country, not being so isolated in their interest and limited to their own clubs. While this is refreshing it also means there will be fans coming and going on the board to talk about current topics. All of this is blown up so much fellas, it shouldnt be this serious so lets just have fun with it. If a troll posts, REPORT THE POST and I will take care of it when I can. Thanks much and Forca Sporting!
Honestly, this is a helluva lot of exaggeration bro. This board doesn't get trolled to death and no one is "taking over" anything. If its just Sporting posters on here the board is damn near dead. We need the dialogue between supporters from the big clubs, in order to see different views. Personally, I think rival supporters can bring up good points and a broader view. Same can be said for Sporting supporters commenting on rivals. I've never been one to post or even look at the Barca board, or Benfica/Porto boards. Just not interested in getting involved and my temper would flair too easily. So I stay away, but not everyone is like that. I come to this place to get info on my club(s) and to closely follow the day to day information about the matches and players. Forget all that other mess, not worth the time or effort. Posters get too caught up in the junk. Same part as you apparently, East Bay. Born in Union City. You from San Jo originally?
I should have multi-quoted but ih well. We do have Sporting Mod support, in the form of ME! I'll help in whatever way I can, but I dont want to censor solid debate either. An other teams thread is a good idea, and one we've used in the Madrid board for a long long time. I'd recommend opening one, with the added note that it is not a place to talk crazy shit, more like somewhere to comment on the others without going into their dungeons. Ha. Just keep it light and have fun with it. edit: vilafria, posters use that option to report all kinds of posts. It applies for trolling, spam and outright flame wars in progress. Lets us know whats up when we are not around.
