The report itself (http://www.who.int/substance_abuse/publications/global_alcohol_report/msbgsruprofiles.pdf) shows we drink more, but we know how to drink. We are marked in Figure 7 as being in the group with least risky drinking patterns. Interesting stuff.

I think the reason to why brits and germans getting pissed faster is because of the portuguese beer itself. It has more percentage of alcohol then they're used to - or so I believe.
But believe me on this, I have socialized with tons of foreigners whether in football or academic environments and they predictably fail - be it beer or not.

    It sure is interesting.

No matter which team wins its a win for Portuguese futebol. With that said I want Braga to take it. Would be very good for their club, as I don't know in how long they will get this opportunity again, and I think it could lead to the legitimate claim that Portugal is a league no longer dominated by 3 teams, but by 4 (Your already seeing this is the media, Abola now has a sec. dedicated to them on their homepage)

If they win the Europa, more players are going to want to represent them both domestically and from other nations.

Braga is losing half their players and Coach. They will be rebuilding again next season. I wish we could have a big 4 but if Braga get a recycled coach, they will be fighting for top 10.

Many said the same in the beginning of last year, me included. Braga started slowly but they got their act together became a solid team again.

This time, I'll wait and see...

yes but they have Domingos. He is a good coach. If Braga get stuck with a crappy coach, they will have a hard time placing in a Europa league spot

Well thats what I thought 2 years ago when they lost JJ and then last year when they saw a bunch of player, particularly defense, their strong point leave.

But I think they have a strong core of players, and a good model for the next season. Next year they will losing players of course, but they will be getting Pizzi, Yazalde, and have a few other players on the books.

I want to see them get more notoriety in the Liga and in Europe, and I think they have the stadium, the fanbase, and a sustainable model moving forward, not to mention a great city(One of my fav in Portugal).

When Boavista was biting the Big3 backheels consistently - prior to 2000 -, some people were pointing us to be the other Big one. But like alot of experts brought at that point, you can't make part of this elite if you can't even win the national league title. Honestly, it's only fair.

I do hope they eventually achieve that status though.

You guys did win the league and a few top 3 finishes. You guys were like Braga though. High turnover and relied heavely on your coach who was a master at getting the best out of his players with limited skills. I remember "littlehammer" Martelinho. He was a such a clutch player.

Sílvio, Domingos and Vandinho have been confirmed to leave the club.

Now it is thought that Artur and Rodríguez are likely to be next - end of contract.

With the money you guys gathered this season + some sells, I'm confident you will be able to reinforce the squad. Hopefully it will be the right bets.

A Bola reports that a russian club is willing to offer 14M€ for Pizzi.

    http://www.abola.pt/nnh/ver.aspx?id=264555

I find this extremely hard to believe considering he played for a minnow. However, if he does go around that value - or more according to newspaper speculation - then it is impressive how Braga's management raised the bar to this level. Hell, they might end up selling just as much if not more than Sporting. :D
