    Hello

Could someone tell me how well did Stojkovic perform his job of Red Star chairman between 1995 and 1998 besides the trophies the club won ? :)

New coach Dragoslav Stepanovic has put on his working clothes and started training with 28 players, while he is still expecting some of first-string players to join rest of the team (Mrdja, Aleksic, Kizito, Buac, Stosic, Djuric,...).

He was chairman around 2005-2007 most recently. That was our most magical team that included Zigic, Kovacevic, Bisevac, Lukovic, Dudic, Purovic, Basta and several others.

He was the man who brought Walter Zenga to the club and who led us to two consecutive double crowns. However, recent instability at the club brought out all of the financial details into the limelight of Serbia's sporting elite.

Unequivocally it was illustrated that Stojkovic supposedly was the man most at fault for our debt.

I find that hard to believe because we had financial woes before then.. it only probably just got worse, something he couldn't control with the falling number of fans coming to games.

He loves Red Star Belgrade, and he for me was the best chairman we have had in the last 5-10 years. The problem was the fans did not understand that we had to sell our best players on a consistent basis to pay off our debt.

Lastly, he took the FIFA tests for his coaching licenses, and it has been rumored that he had the highest scores of any coach to ever apply for a FIFA license. He coached Nagoya Grampus Eight recently. He is a former player there and a Japense league legend.

    Hi all,

As the transfer window in the Russian Premier league is about to open soon, Eurosport Russia are going to write a set of stories about the hottest prospects from all over the world. We believe it could be interesting to take a look at players that could attract Russian clubs' attention at some point.

So we'd really appreciate if you could help us a little bit. Are there any hot prospects in your country’s league? Even last names will do :)

    Thanks a lot in advance,
    Igor.

    Hi,

I know this isn't strictly related but any help you guys could give me would be gratefully received. I'm trying to find out the results/schedule of Radnicki Nis in the 1981-82 season in Yugoslavia. There is loads about their European campaign, but not the league. Wikipedia gives results but not the dates of results which is what I am really interested in.

Any help would be really good, even if its just individual results, thanks.

FK Partizan, Koeman asking for €400,000

[IMG]Aleksandar Stanojevic, who is still officially the head coach of the Partizan Football Club, has extended his holiday in the Maldives, while the club’s officials are awaiting his return scheduled to be after the Christmas holidays in Serbia.

Stanojevic is then expected to inform the Partizan officials of his final decision regarding his future. Through the media, the coach has already told the backroom staff he is regarding himself as a “former head coach”, however, that cannot be enough to terminate Stanojevic’s contract. Meanwhile, the officials are not sitting tight and Dutch coach Erwin Koeman is increasingly being mentioned as Stanojevic’s successor.

Koeman has forwarded his CV to Partizan and is reportedly willing to accept Partizan’s offer for no lower than €300,000 to €400,000 a season, plus bonuses should Partizan manage to break into Champions League proper. Partizan, on their own part, are preparing to offer Koeman an 18-month contract.

"We have changed squad, now changing our play"

[IMG] Robert Prosinečki, Red Star manager

According to the Red Star boss, the new arrivals are an assurance of improved performances in the second part of the league season.

    - We have told the new players they are now at a great club, where there is a lot of expectation from every player. Judging by their strengths, we believe they will cope well with the pressure and the challenge. With them on board, Red Star will be a better team than in the first part of the season. We will try to keep up with Partizan as best as we can and win the Cup, Prosinecki vowed.

The absence at the meeting of Brazilian players Evandro, Pacheco and Cadu, as well as Columbian Borja, does not spell a cause for concern for Prosinecki.

    - We have yet to determine why they missed the meeting and are late for the start of preparations. Some of them have a reason for being absent, and it’s possible some will be suspended.

Prosinecki then reflected on his visit to Barcelona FC and his conversation with coach Pep Guardiola.

    - Barca have players in their reserve team who catch the eye of the entire world of football, and not only of us at Red Star. Our conversation was positive and we made first steps towards doing business together, and we’ll see if there are any moves in the summer. As for new acquisitions, the window is open until the end of January and we’ll assess the situation and see if there is need for more signings. We have returned youngsters Ozegovic, Djurickovic and Krneta from loan spells, who all did well at Sopot. Whether we bring a new striker or not depends on whether Kaludjerovic stays or leaves the club.

Red Star will be doing a medical in groups until Thursday, after which the team will train in Belgrade until 19 January. Then Red Star are going to Budva and finally on 1 February to Antalya, Turkey.
