But what a goal from Bosko Jankovic from a free kick!!!
Reminded me of famous Roberto Carlos' goal on Brazil - France.

Here are the weekend games all which are being played on Saturday. The derby of the weekend is between 2nd placed Partizan and 4th placed OFK Beograd or as they're rather known as Romanticari. It will be interesting to see if Partizan can pull out a result... Zvezda plays Borac, which is a pretty good opponent but we should win.

Table: Games Played, Goal Differential, Points

    15. Obilić 20 (-20) 11
    16. Jedinstvo 20 (-30) 10

Well Zvezda won with some ease 3-0... while Partizan was held to a draw at home in front of 11,500 fans. They almost won a penalty again in the last minute when the referee seemed to give a pk to them, but then he overturned his decision and just called it a foul outside the box... Zvezda stretch their lead to 5 points this weekend... If we can maintain this kind of form for the rest of the season it will be great!!!

    Victory in Banatski Dvor
    05.03.2006

Buducnost (BD) - Red Star 0:3

In the 20th round of the Meridian Superleague Red Star further strengthened its grip on the first place, stretching its lead over the closest rival to five points. Playing away at Buducnost, our team won, 3:0, thus continuing its winning record against the team from Banatski Dvor.

Buducnost Banatski Dvor – Red Star 0:3 (0:2)
    Milovanovic 9’, Lukovic 25’ (pen.), Dudic 83’

Our team played with the following lineup: Stojkovic, Basta, Lukovic, Dudic, Bisevac, Kovacevic, Milovanovic (Perovic 84’), Mudrinic (Mladenovic 62’), Jankovic, Djokic and Purovic (Milijas 68’).

Playing in front of capacity crowd in this small village in the northern Serbian region of Banat, Red Star wasted no time in asserting its superiority. The official time showed 9 minutes into the match when Dejan Milovanovic unleashed a spectacular free kick from 25 metres and put our team ahead. After this the host tried to get back into the match, but its efforts were to no avail as Red Star clearly was the dominant team.

Our team’s superiority on the field yielded another goal at 25 min. After a pass from Purovic, Djokic was brought down inside the box and the referee immediately pointed at the penalty spot. Lukovic was precise from 11 metres, sending the ball in one corner and the goalkeeper into the other.

In the remaining minutes of the first half we saw much of the same. By break time, it seemed like Red Star had already secured three new points.

The second half was largely uneventful. Throughout this period Buducnost was trying hard to even the match, it even had more of ball possession, but to no avail since its players failed to create any serious scoring opportunities.

In the game’s final minutes, Red Star added a third goal, off a set piece. Dejan Milovanovic - the MVP of the match – sent an ideal free-kick cross that Milan Dudic then headed into the opponent’s net. It was a perfect icing on the cake that set off yet another celebration among Red Star fans.

    29. Angola---------------------13.150.000
    30. Trinidad & Tobago----------12.225.000
    31. Costa Rica-----------------11.700.000
    32. Saudi Arabia----------------1.000.000

It's also intereting too see that by groups on this WC. I added everyone's rank on this list and divided it by number of teams in group(4) to get "average team position" in each group.
    A - 20.50
    B - 17.25
    C - 10.25 :D
    D - 19.50
    E - 13.50
    F - 13.50
    G - 19.00
    H - 18.50

    Red Star players evaluated:

    GK Vladimir Stojkovic 2.000.000
    LB Aleksandar Lukovic 3.000.000
    CD Milan Dudic 1.800.000
    CD Mlan Bisevac 1.000.000
    RB Dusan Basta 5.000.000
    DM Nenad Kovacevic 2.000.000
    CM Nenad Milijas 1.200.000
    CM Dejan Milovanovic 1.000.000
    LM Marko Perovic 2.500.000
    AM Bosko Jankovic 5.000.000
    ST Takayuki Suzuki 2.000.000
ST Nikola Zigic 8.000.000 (I think they underestimated him. It's well known that Red Star alredy rejected more than 10.000.000e offer from West Ham. and these days in UK post Zigic was linked to Arsenal. The deal is over, so they say, Zigic will go to London right after world cup, for some 11.000.000. Another relevant thing that decides sum of a transfer is that he has only 1 year left untill he becomes free player.)

Overall Red Star team is evaluated for some 39.850.000. Not bad. Just for regional comparison:

    Red Star Belgrade - 39.850.000
    Dinamo Zagreb - 24.900.000
    Hajduk Split - 23.590.000
    Partizan Belgrade - 23.150.000
    Rapid Bucharest - 13.150.000
Steaua Bucharest - 10.600.000  WTF??
    Levski Sofia - 8.950.000
    CSKA Sofia - 8.200.000

Very interesting stuff... I'm gonna go see how we compare to smaller foreign teams... I also think Zigic will depart for Arsenal, but the question is where will he fit.. My second most loved team Arsenal, already have Henry, Van Persie, Adebayor, Walcott, Lupoli... But I do think Zigic is replacing some striker. I think Walcott and Lupoli are too young therefore if Zigic does go to Arsenal it will be: Thierry Henry, Robin Van Persie, Emmanuel Adebayor, and Nikola Zigic. Reyes is Pires' replacement on the left so he isn't a forward. Bergkamp is going to retire this year... All of a sudden this move is starting to make a whole lot of sense... or at least in my eyes it does.

    I CANT WAIT!!!

Hey marakana10, did you know that you can watch Radio Televizija Srbije online? I dont know if they are going to broadcast Partizan - Zvezda, but you can watch Serbian football now. I mean, only if you have fast connection(at least 256kbps).

    Football is usually on RTS2:
    http://www.rts.co.yu/rts2uzivo.ram

    but sometimes its on RTS1:
    http://www.rts.co.yu/rts1uzivo.ram

When we were losing on half-time, I just knew, if there is anyone who can do wonders it's Zile... Brilliant first goal from some 25m, and second one is his classic. I'll post those goals later, when I catch them on TV.
