People love the word "selfie." There's people who always take pictures of themselves, and then everybody else loves the word selfie.
yeah, I hadn't heard the term until about a year ago. selfies really went to another level with the invention of the smartphone and the reversable cameras.
The term selfie always makes me think of another form of self love, which I suppose is an appropriate connection.
I can't say as I've been tempted to upload a picture of myself but I did change my avatar to one of my 'best gal', (my daughter IOW), once when I was pissed, (in the British sense = drunk), but then, she's cute, so... Took it down pretty smartish the next morning though when, a) someone on here mentioned it wasn't that good an idea, and b), TLW provided me with some 'feedback' about me having done it I wouldn't want to do it with my own 'fizzog' for fear of frightening the horses, the children, the elderly or anyone of a nervous disposition
But isn't it like where people become intensely annoyed at other people ringing their loved ones on the train? I can't say as that's ever bothered me that much, tbh. I mean, when I'm in a crowd of strangers and thinking of my family, I sometimes want to speak to them too. When people start ringing their offices, THAT annoys me... particularly when they start wittering on about how they're going to 'kick bottom' and how 'Nigel's arse is on the line on this one' and similar twoddle... THAT makes me want to strangle them. If you've genuinely got something to say, fair enough... but all this corporate-speak and business-bullshit drives me up the wall.
Of course, that takes no small amount of effort, talent, and imagination. This... ... not so much. This however... might be just what the thread needs:

I don't recall exactly which right wingnut it was, but the guy was obviously taking shots at Obama for this selfie and saying how Putin has just made plans to take all of Europe after seeing this selfie. I guess the right wingnut prefers manly shirtless horse-riding dude to an Obama selfie...

At first it was... I might have liked something and the app I use decided that it was something that I might like. And the app was right! Now they are officially part of my newsfeed... I get news from odd places and hip hop and rappers videos from time to time because they match my keywords or so but overall it is a very reliable app... Oh... you didn't mean on my screen...
I like pictures of chicks in their underwear as much as the next guy, if not more, but those really weren't that good.
That was just the last issue... Instagram has unbelievable untapped potential... Besides, it is like pizza...
