Those same people who predicted that we would lose to Juventus and Chelsea????? Because there were a hell of a lot of people who said that.

shit, kids. i assume you saw the final? I think it's time to start worrying. There will be an enormous outpouring in support of liverpool's return from all kinds of sources. I think they deserve a chance to defend it, but not at everton's expense. let 'em have it in 2006-07, but not now. please not now...

Oh well. We're in the CL and that's all that matters. If they get a chance to defend, good for them.

You know, I really couldn't give a sh!t at this point. It's one thing to play in it next year, but lots of teams do that. But how many can say that they were the Champions of Europe? Exactly.

Yeah, I was chuckling at half time, but when they were awarded a penalty I started jumping up and down in joy. One of the top three games I've ever seen. All I can say is, I'm proud to be English.

Well, I thought AC Milan, being the disciplined force that they are, would do the trick. But for 6 minutes in the 2nd half, they were the best team (even after the 3rd goal they had some chances). But from the 54th to the 6oth minute, Liverpool destroyed AC and thats why it went to penalties, and Liverpool carried their advantage to the penals.

As for the game, it was the greatest cup final ever and I really rooted for Liverpool, despite my Everton support. I'm not even English either, but I loved every moment of the 2nd half and penalties

Sorry but why wasn't the freekick given when Baros was offside for the second goal? The referee just chose to ignore the linesman and let play continue resulting in a goal! Dudek was miles off his line when penalties were taken etc.

Why couldn't the ref just have sorted it out? This sort of thing just puts a dampner on one of the greatest comebacks ever! Although it doesn't beat ManCity vs Spurs in my book. ;)

Are you so dimwitted as to think that I'm the dimwit here?

P.S. Have a laugh. With any luck Liverpool will lose their little playoff with TNS. Sweet!

Perhaps some of you knew this already but it's alarming news to me.

If Liverpool do find some back door/playoff way to get into the CL we'd suffer considerable financial losses. Basically, the CL money split between the normal 4 clubs would be divided up 5 ways instead. We'd lose several million pounds.

That would also cause a big legal stink not just from us, but also from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. I'm hoping UEFA isn't willing to go that route.

Where do I start on the reasons that Liverpool CAN NOT be allowed to enter the CL via the back door. This has nothing to do with hating Liverpool by the way but pure common sense.

Would the FA be so vocal of allowing Italy or Spain to enter an extra team if the situation was reversed??? I very much doubt it. Lets not forget as well that the current UEFA regulations state that the 4 CL Places are to be allocated at the FA's discretion and when asked to clarify who they would be entering they quite rightly stated the top 4 teams in the PL as this is their own criteria for entrance into the CL. This is why I find it strange that they understand that it is immoral to change there own regulations at the end of the season yet are lobbying for UEFA to do that?????

Also I dont see how UEFA can add Liverpool into CL with out some other team losing out in some way?? And why should any team lose out after earning there right to be in the tournament next year just because the so called best team in Europe cant manage to finish in the top 4 of there own league?

I know that UEFA reserve a spot for Title Holders from those nations that have less than 4 entrants and Liverpool could be given that spot but to do that would require changing the rules and regulations that everyone agreed to at the beginning of the season..... and that above anything else is what I disagree with.

If UEFA have now decided that champions should always be allowed to defend there trophy then so be it. Change the rules for the 2005/2006 season onwards so that everyone is aware of this rule at the beginning of the season and everyone knows exactly what they have to achieve.

Well I could go on and on and on about this subject but think thats enough for now

I didn't agree with the word (or abbreviation) 'PL'... it's 'EPL', damnit!

It's all speculation since you make more the further you get in the tournament.

Uh, of course not...it's not their country, league or jurisdiction. That's like asking why the FA doesn't crack down on steroids in Major League Baseball.

Would you be so concerned as to write out a big post like this if this involved any other club in the world BESIDES Liverpool, considering you guys are in no matter what?? I very much doubt it.

The bottom is you guys are IN. NO MATTER WHAT. You can be pissed we won the whole thing, but don't get too concerned with what happens to us next season, because it's not gonna affect you too much. If UEFA decides to let us in at the sacrifice of some crummy club somewhere, what does it matter to you?? Jesus, has the Everton inferiority complex now gotten so bad that simply being in Europe for the first time in ages is not enough to be happy about on it's own??

Ok first of all I aint pi55ed that you won the CL this. As we weren't in the tournemant then I would always like to see an English team win over any other country and that includes Liverpool & Man U! It is only good for the game in England and helps keep us at the top end of the UEFA Coefficent rankings which means more places etc etc....

The only think that I do object to is changing the rules at the end of the competion. If UEFA want to change the rules then it should be applied to 2006/2007 competion. Simple as that....even you must agree that changing rules at the end of the season isn't the "right" way to do it.

Cheers Trooper I thought I should introduce myself with a bang! :)

    Word.

You can't do well in the league, you aren't a Champion and you don't get your chance. Full stop.

(Oh FFS, I was talking about Liverpool. League = EPL. Sorry, fighting a nasty cold over here.)

But why are you so passionate about it? I mean, if I were an Everton fan, I would have a hell of a time finding something to complain about.

I'm sorry, are you talking about Liverpool or Everton?? Because one team is a champion and has the trophy to prove it.
