If Roma are forced to sell Benatia or lose Pjanic your team is going to take some time to find its coherence again. You have yet to prove that you're still not a selling club. Especially since you sold two of your hottest prospects last summer (though Rudi and your management did impress with what they were able to get with that money). As for Napoli even with the 100 million they had to reinvest to come in third is great. Imagine if you guys lost Pjanic, Benatia, and Totti. Even with money there is something lost that can't be replaced instantly. Add in the fact that Mazzari only buys players from nursing homes and what they accomplished this season isn't bad at all. Plus playing in Europe does add considerably more strain on players. You really think Totti could play every 3 days? Even at his current 50 year old status he is still your best offensive player and you guys look flat without him in. When he finally decides to retire there isn't enough money in the world to replace what you'll have lost... Forza Juve, Forza Napoli, Forza Serie A!
Anything done by another team that if reversed would bump Roma up the table. Its called unbiased journalism.
So are Benatia and Pjanic , everyone in the team has been doing well. If we sell them , we can buy new players , and with CL money we can have a decent transfer market.
The point isn't that they can't be replaced but that their replacements will take time to adjust. Benatia was the signing of the year last year imo and you won't be able to replace him for what you sell him at. Similarly Gervinho was a player with potential that Rudi already knew how to get the best out of. Pjanic took 3 years to learn to be a playmaker in Italy. Totti still continues to be your best player. Destro still struggles with injuries. Your whole team is susceptible to punching people in the face. If you honestly believe that you could sell off one of your core players and find an instant replacement I think you are delusional. Hell, Id think you were delusional if you believed that this current team, with its aging injury and red card prone core, could do as well as it did this year - while playing a game every three days. You don't have the depth. In order to do as well while playing in 3 competitions you don't want to replace core but improve upon depth. I don't think Roma is at the point, even with CL money, that that is reasonably the goal.
We'll see next year then , but i'm sure that we'll do our best to try and get more depth. And tbh , i'm sure we'll give you a hell of a fight next year , you can count on it.
Also , all this talk of next year. i still have a tiny tiny hope Juve will come down crashing , but that's really being delusional
hey, i know you're new, but in this thread don't use logic if you don't feel like arguing, don't, just talk crap, you'll get the hang of it!
Napoli players can't drive. Happened to Henrique. Or he probably regrets joining Napoli....lol Higuain jumping on a rock. This ain't a coincidence.
For all you uppity Roma fans who think you've achieved something remember you are only one season removed from the mediocrity that is this team...
wtf is that one player looking at? Marek in a womans outfit? I know he rocks it but come on lol, keep some composure, you're professionals lol
