Ok. But... ...if it's an insignificant amount then why not pay it? The club are supposedly cash rich after a successful £22mill share issue. So why not pay this and be done with it rather than have all the negative press associated with it...? Surely it's not good for the clubs image and also would make other companies involved with your club a tad nervous considering the recent history. It may happen in your work environment but I am unaware of any other successful, cash rich, football clubs being served with a winding up order with regards to an overdue payment.
I don't know of the working mechanics of it. I can only relate to what I see in business. When people are busy then they payment part is usually the part that takes the longest. Plus the financial part of businesses are always understaffed. Also these things take a long time to travel to the top of the food chain. That is usually when it gets sorted out. Also I'd imagine there is a lot of new staff at Rangers all getting to know the way it operates now. But you touch on a good point. Our PR department are a joke. Instead of silence they should be fighting back against such things. Also mud does stick in these situations. I've seen that many times as well.
Being tweeted now - Sources close to Orlit Enterprise say: "no settlement has been reached" over Rangers owing them £400,000. So why did The Rangers respond last night with this - “With regard to stories circulating about Rangers and Orlit, the sums sought are insignificant and agreement has been reached subject to the necessary paperwork."
I would not pay any attention to twitter. Too many mischief makers to know what is true and what is made up.
I fully appreciate that. That tweet is from CH4's Alex Thomson. Who incidentally, is hosting a live web debate at 12.15 http://blogs.channel4.com/alex-thomsons-view/rangers-join-online-debate/4050
I don't really follow him. Never have so I've no opinion in him. I've not lived in Scotland for 10 years and stopped listening to those pathetic phone in radio shows a long time ago.
I don't live in Scotland either now but what I was getting at was, you have an opinion on Alex Thomson and his comments on the above but the comments above from your club came from your director of communications - James Traynor. You know of James Traynor. Is he any less a clown than Thomson?
I honestly don't know. I don't watch the news. I don't listen to the radio. i don't read newspapers. All I've seen of Thomson has been from twitter and he comes across as a self promoting clown. I might unfollow him to be honest.
http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/3656-gers-must-go-up Rangers win the Division, but may not be promoted due to the possible restructuring of leagues.
They played this season in the 4th tier of Scottish football, they will play next season in the 3rd tier of Scottish football. They will be promoted either way.
Hope the rangers come back to the 1 tier quickly, how much is the media following ranger compared to before?
I suspect that they will come back as quickly as the 2015/2016 season. In the meantime they garner lots of healines and lots of media coverage....as befits any club that consistently gets more than 40k out to their home matches...despite the size/quality of the opposition.
Does anyone know what year this Glasgow Ranger jacket is from? http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/...8-afc6-45da-9852-52bbde7c0fcc_zps14656936.jpg
Here is a photo of the tag inside the jacket: http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb96/quackhead73/2013-12-31095924_zpsdf04fff3.jpg
Interesting interview with former Rangers defender Zurab Khizanishvili. Definitely worth a read. http://futbolgrad.com/zurab-khizanishvili-georgia-veteran-search-century/
That was, thanks. He always was great for me in Championship Manager...why I remember that from a decade ago, no idea.
@Pedro's greasy do wanted to know your thoughts on the letter from the RST below. No attempt at baiting etc just genuinely interested --- I would also like to know what the English FA think about all of this. At the end of the day it seems pretty clear cut that Ashley is in some sort of control of two professional football clubs in all but name.
