Yeah, not a big fan of it, but im not going to get too upset about losing a second round pick when we still have one.

I think Fucito is potentially useful, if wasteful, and does give us a speedy forward option. Im not all that high on him, and would personally rather have the pick, but this is more in the realm of things i like but are reasonable.

The fact that he was spare parts at Portland who has no place for him in there system is irrelevant to the price, if other teams were interested in his services.

Matt Doyle and the commentary on MLSSoccer is mildly entertaining.

What a surprise -- Farrell goes first.

The Chicago Fire fans chanting and yelling over everything in the background is obnoxious, not to mention disrespectful. How early do they start drinking in Chicago? Bunch of apes.

I wonder if the Faucito signing means Bryan Jordan isn't going to sign? I wouldn't be surprised.

If Gangnes falls to us it'll be a gift we should happily accept.

Im not upset with the Muller pick, everyone says hes the most cerebral central defender outside of Farrell in this draft. I wouldnt mind a Parkhurst/Besler type for us.

we obviously didnt like Schoenle's frailty, and pre combine everyone questioned Dylan's mobility/quickness.

"He's very strong in the air and reads the game well enough to make up for his relative lack of size. "- Ives's description of Muller. After the Ike Opara catastrophe, i want a brain on the field who may lack physical gifts. But it sounds like he isnt too lacking. This isnt a terrible pick even if Ganges is still on the board. grade it a B at worst

But that's how they described Opara...:ROFLMAO:
Seriously though, I'm giving this pick a C until he proves me wrong.

Seriously though, many here thought the picks of Beta and Morrow were boneheaded. Who's right now? Doyle and Frank have done an excellent job of drafting these last few years. If they think this is the best player for our needs and our team, chances are they're right.

    GO QUAKES!!

still plenty of talent on the board to go with on our second pick. do we double dip? get a central mid? best player available? Chris Blais? :p

Id like the Creighton kid that runs the show for them at central mid, could be a good Baca-like backup

I think they said he was strong.....and could learn to read the game better? Ike was an athletic freak, but never developed a brain. Muller is not an athletic freak, but has a brain. We will see if brains triumph over brawn here.

we dont know how the draft goes, obviously the central defenders arent highly rated in this class aside Farrell and Zimmermann. that was no secret going in. DTG could still fall to us, who knows? i wouldnt complain. Maybe even Schoenle.

I have seen both Muller and Gangnes play. Muller was more impressive to me. I really like this pick a lot.

A lot of you guys complain about long ball well that is all you would get from Gangnes because that's how UW play - they are the stoke city of NCAA ball and they just hoof it forward.

Muller has enough size at 5'11 and is good in the air. He won every aerial duel with the 6'1 eriq zavaleta in the nat'l championship game this year.

Muller had a top 5 agility test. He may not be an athletic freak, but it sounds like he is athletic. And the way we play, defending players 1v1 in the open field is important. Between that quickness and whats been described as a good sense of timing he should be far more adept then Opara was at dealing with the kind of plays LA was making against us in the playoffs.
