Because world class players are sad, so they don't celebrate goals. He is very talented. Has yet to carry a team at the world stage. Not sure if winning La Liga with Real Madrid is a great accomplishment.
No. I don't base my player analysis on what they do in one month tournaments after a 10 month long season. If I did that, Messi would be one useless player. (By the by, who is Messi? What has he won in important month-long tournaments to warrant his rating?) No, see, I actually watched him in league play, which is where I gain all my perspective from. I don't rate a player unless I watch him frequently. It's why I rate Bas Dost and Dries Mertens as high as I do. They may not be of the highest caliber where they're playing for our club, but they'll do well for someone down the road, just as they're doing well for their current clubs now.
He did carry Man United to the Champions League title. He's been the best player on league winning sides in the two toughest leagues in the world. What more then that has Messi done exactly?
I still take Messi any day of the week. Look, I rate Ronaldo high but not as high as others. Maybe some bias on my part. I don't care for him. I do recognize his talent but there is something missing about him for me. Is he world class by what the poor standards we have today? Sure. But among the best that ever played in this game, he is so low on that long ladder.
So Messi can't beat Chelsea with a wastly superior team and he gets a bye and Cavani doesn't? How do you come up with these things?
Tuesday September 4 2012 Inter: 'Why we spied on Vieri' By Football Italia staff Inter have hit back after being ordered to pay €1m in damages for spying on Christian Vieri and explained why they hired a private investigator to track him. The striker won his legal challenge, although he had been seeking €20m, for allegations the club had him followed and wiretapped his phone to build up a dossier of off the field behaviour. “We are certainly a little surprised by the sentence and will appeal, as we are convinced we were in the right,” said director general Marco Fassone. Vieri’s lawyers have taken the matter to the FIGC, which could in theory see the club penalised in a sporting court as well as a civil one. “In sporting justice terms the events in question have already been buried, as the statute of limitations has expired,” added Inter lawyer Fabio Iudica. “As if that weren’t enough, the sentence specifies clearly that it in no way affected the career of the player. There are therefore no damages to his image, so we are calm and will block the sentence with an appeal. “How can anyone talk about revoking Scudetti when the events were in 1999 and 2004? In any case, the fans can relax as the statute of limitations has expired and I get the feeling we won’t even reach the sporting court.” Somewhat controversially, Inter’s lawyer also explained why the club had hired private detectives to track Vieri’s every move. “An investigative agency was simply hired to understand if Vieri was behaving within the principle internal rules at Inter.” http://www.football-italia.net/24702/inter-why-we-spied-vieri Funny the verdict gets pubished after a statue of limitations has most likely been enforced.
I don't agree with much of what you say on many players. Van der Wiel has been for sale for a year and he was signed on the last day by PSG who were desperate. Also just to make sure I cement it, even Van der Wiel disagrees on your point.
I'm just following Falc's rules for who is "world class" and who isn't. None of these players has won a World Cup, so they're clearly not "world class". It doesn't matter if you've scored 5,000 goals in your career. If you don't do anything on the international stage for your country, then you're just above average, and not "world class". Hey, it's not my rules. You don't like it? Take it up with Falc. He knows all about "world class", and these players don't have it.
