Eh? Benitez has actually gotten past the CL quarter-finals in his career. Mancini is a joke in Europe.
Mancini seems to do really well domestically but he seems to crap out complete duds of tactics in Europe
ah the dead horse has been brought back to life If Mancini had any idea on what tactics are he would of gotten out of groups. Man city has a Ferrari thats being driven by a guy who cant drive of course they werent going to do shit.
Well, at least we know the sheiks don't care about Champions League. If Abramovich owned City, Mancini would've been fired after the Ajax debacle.
So what questionable tactics has doomed Mancini? Why is it his team is able to get results in the EPL and not the CL?
Because the Premier League is a terrible league with 16 also-rans. They get fat and happy off of inferior competition. The Champions League is a league of champions.
No, but Dortmund and Ajax were. Real Madrid is simply better than them. Dortmund is clearly better than them. Man City won the Premier League last year, but had to rely on QPR sucking in the last 5 minutes to do it. They beat out a fairly weak Manchester United team. They have a couple of great players, but they're not a great team. They just happen to play in a league with a lot of teams that are tissue paper soft.
I completely forgot that they won the title last year. It's easy to forget about leagues that are inferior to Serie A.
I can only name about 10 teams in La Liga, and the most obscure that I can name is Celta de Vigo, and that's because a friend's heritage is from there, and he's a fan of them. As a matter of fact, his last name is the name of a small town soccer team in that town that plays in the 3rd division: Coruxo FC.
Only people from muslim countries can name more. They're the only people that care about Spanish football.
Nah, I can... I don't really care about La Liga, but I'm aware of who's there. Now the Bundesliga, after Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mochengladbach, Hamburg, St, Pauli, Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen I couldn't name another team (I probably know a few more, but off the top of my head I can't remember their names).
Hmmm 3 man back line putting a attacking left back at center back against real Madrid, the players came out publicly and said they didn't get the formation enough to play it in champions league. His team sits back and tries to absorb pressure because Mancini I don't think is confident enough in his team, if it weren't for controversial penalties they'd have lost 2 more then they did.
Acutally City had some bad luck go their way and should have had a couple called in their favor. One could have been a game winner.
Ahh Shalke, and Leverkusen. Like I said, I know some, but can't really name them all that quickly because I give even less of a shit about the Bundesliga as I do La Liga.
You probably are too young to remember Soccer Made in Germany. I use to know the Bundesliga pretty well in the old days with Toby Charles.
City played with a 3 back-line through the whole pre-season. A few times when they've struggled in the league they've gone to that formation and just run teams down. Most people are wondering why they don't play it all the time. Don't know what players were complaining about it but they must have the memory of a goldfish.
