Think that would be good for BVB. Becoming consistent CL performers would be better for the club than bottling lightning for one season and winning the CL and then disappearing from the CL for a decade. I think Bayern could do a bit better with bottling lightning, but even here I'd like to see some sustained, consistent improvement and not just random success. Not that you can't have both, but we know how hard it is to sustain that hunger.
Have you guys seen this news about Fenerbahce?? According to the article linked above, thanks to their match-fixing scandal, Fenerbahce will not be playing in the season's CL. If this truly happens and both FC Copenhagen (down two goals) and BATE Borisov (tied 1-1) go out tonight, BVB would move up to Pot 3. I got that news from the guys at Schwatzgelb.com.
Why don't they disqualify Basel? No other team in europe sets up more games than them. But UEFA is based in Nyon.
