We'll have to wait and see, can't make any conclusions without evidence.

You cant even compare the 2. Did Alas play for Sporting CP and Benfica? Im not saying Djalo is the best player on our squad, but logicaly one would asume that he is a big upgrade on the right wing.

Could Yannick Djaló be the next Yves Buelinckx?

Maybe he's the new Tressor Moreno?
He's not even match fit, I hope he plays like a number 10 in the middle but i can't see it unless we switch formation because Frenchy & Cronin have those places sowned down. All down the wings, to one dimensional.

See what happens when I try to be positive and of course this only applies to djalo.

Would be nice. We sure could have used Moreno in the midfield last year.

No. I think it means we'll look more like 2012 when we mostly relied on balls into the box, but had Dawkins as a legit threat to drive inside or unleash from distance. Dawkins' absence was, I think, the biggest reason for our regression last year. Without other real threats from the Quakes, opposing defenses were able to just collapse and deal with balls into the big men. Hopefully, Djalo gives us that other real threat that A) creates goals on his own as Dawkins did and B) creates more space in the box for our forwards to do their thing.

My understanding is he's a winger, not a central midfielder, attacking or otherwise. We play an empty bucket. Period. If we were to try him in the middle it would be another example of our FO signing a guy and expecting him to play a new position.

Yeah, hopefully he'll be as effective as Simon Djawkins, which would make him one of Djohn Djoyle's best signings.

For the case of expectation vs reality they are both looking the same now. Both had impressive looking highlight reels, Alas also had the benefit of giving the US a closer look when he scored on us,

Both took a damn long time from when we knew we were getting them to when they were running around in 'Quakes gear.

Alas fizzled on the field. (who knows why...)

Djalo has yet to get some time, but at this point he's up against a building, unreasonable, expectation from what I can see so far. Maybe he turns in to a Huckerby or Stewart and everyone can smile about it. That is what I'm hoping for.

I think he has some experience as a forward also.
