Generally, I believe in the hair, there are some cases where cutting it seems to have positive effects. Justin Morrow seemed to have gotten more confident and smarter after he waived his dreads. But then again he looked a little goofy with it, like it was a wig or something - kind of like Cobi Jones. Maybe that's what made Morrow better - sort of a de-CobiJonesification.
I think the hair has made Lenny a target because he stands out. For us, in a good way, but it's hard to forget the hair, which makes it easier for his detractors to hate on him. Justin was working at the Old Pro in Palo Alto with a couple of other players in a 2011 promo and I gave him a hard time about the haircut, especially as he was signing pictures in which he had dreads. He said the long hair was too hot and he was not interested in growing it out again. Now he looks like everybody else, but maybe that was the point.
When I read other threads from posters around the league, I can't help to think how ignorant they are when it comes to criticizing Lenny's level of play. I don't really know how anyone that truly knows and understands the game can't appreciate a player like Lenhart because he is or at least has been the most ultimate forward who plays all out each time.
Oh no! looks terrible!! almost as bad as tim lincecum's new Elvis Costello look... Guess the quakes have to get a new poster boy now.
Props to the fan who still has a Lenhart wig, but cuts it to match is new haircut for the home opener!

The comments below the article are priceless! Lenny is NOT a cheater. He's physical, and he hassles the defenders, but let's not pretend that defenders don't foul the crap out of nearly every forward in the league. Anything they can get away with, they do. I love that Lenny gives it back in full measure. Which often leads to cheap shots on him, which often leads to free kicks in their area! I love it. Lionheart is great!!
