Assuming all the "contestants" were given the same notes, he scored way higher than everyone else. He clearly recognized the names. I'll bet that can't be said about alot of mls players and coaches.
I don't know if I'd like Lenny if he were on an opposing team but I think he is a great asset to the Quakes and really appreciate his style. He reminds me of an old school British style center forward like maybe a Joe Jordan who fights for every ball. This is the type of player everyone may love to hate but you also love to have him on your team.
and MLS has taken notice. Check out who is at #5 of Castrol Index just behind Wondo. It is nice to see three Goonies in top 10 list, first time since November 2012. Pretty impressed with Lenny's performance last game, hope he ends the season at least in top 50.
Article about Dempsey getting fouled, but Lenhart is not far behind. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...ern-over-fouling-usmnt-captain-clint-dempsey-
Yeah, color me surprised. I haven't gone to look...wonder if that jerk from NYRB who keeps kicking people in the crotch got what he was due as well.
I'm sure he's appealing it so don't get too excited just yet, but either way the surprise is only warranted because of a predisposition to believing that star players receive favored treatment in matters of discipline. Were you also surprised when Henry was suspended (multiple times)?
Henry missed more deserved suspensions than he got. And the stuff Keane and Beckham got away with was beyond ridiculous. When Nelson Rodriquez ran the Disco, they did favor the DPs. Suspending Dempsey will be a nice change, but I'm still doubtful that's favoritism of DPs is a thing of the past.
Quakes might be missing him for a while http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...akes-forward-steven-lenhart-could-end-shelf-a
"Earthquakes forward Steven Lenhart sidelined for at least a month" (San Jose Mercury News - Thursday, 4/3/14) GO SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES!!! -G
"We'll miss him, but as always with injuries it gives guys an opportunity," coach Mark Watson said. "Alan Gordon, who has been working his way back to fitness, is pretty close. Billy Schuler, Adam Jahn, all the other guys that have been working hard and waiting patiently." So it looks like Watson won't use this as an opportunity to try something different. Man, this is going to be a looooonnnnnnggg season.
I like Gordo, but if you don't, there is no need to fret - he'll probably get injured again pretty soon... I don't want to hex him, but I would guess that career-wise, other than his stellar year with us, he probably is injured 1/3 of the time.
