Beta's goal was mindblowing. Just wow! :D

Watched Chijindu's third goal again. He wasn't Beta's mark. Jason should have been covering him. He may well have been offside, but you should never count on the MLS officials getting the offside call correct.

I hope we keep seeing Beta at right back. He's got a lot of talent and he remains calm and collected throughout the match. We need more guys like him.

    Go Quakes!!

Even though it wasn't his mark, he was so fast that he actually got back and put pressure on the striker. It was actually a terrible finish that Joe bottled.

Yeah!! I agree the finish wasn't that good. Also, I think JoeC has to start trusting his back four defenders more this season. I'm pretty confident that if Joe had stayed back & allowed Beta to close down the striker from Chivas (around the top of the 18 yard box) that Beta would have prevented a quality shot on goal!!

That was my impression too. Watching the replay, I thought that TheJoe should have saved that one. I'm not sure whether it would have been better for Joe to stay back a bit and trust in TheBeta. I'm not a goalkeeper, so I'm not sure I can make a judgment on that.

I also think that the Chijindu appeared to be offside, but we can't tell because of the terrible camera coverage. Yeesh those guys sucked. Oh and the announcers had a terrible time figuring out how to pronounce Beta's name with their bogus Spanish accents. Those guys are just terrible to listen to. Their analysis is mostly crap, they are hideously biased, and their awful accents are just stomach turning. Yuck!

    I remain impressed with Beta.

    Go Quakes!!

Adidas World Cup ball (and yes, apparently jubulani means "rejoice" in Zulu - could it have the same root as the English word "jubilation"?). My guess is that they did some aerodynamics tests with it?

So, other than seeing that one of the technicians is a euro-posing Bayern fan, what did we learn from the test?:)

When I saw "NASA" in the title, I was wondering why they didn't ask Corrales who could probably shoot it all the way to Mars.

The Jubulani ball has received quite a bit of criticism from mostly keepers and some field players. We saw that before each World Cup. However, the goal China scored from 30 yard against France on their 1-0 victory recently may prove a point. Try to find it on Youtube.

Not sure if anyone knows or not, but I read former Portuguese International midfielder, António Simões, who played for the NASL Quakes in the 1970's izs now Iran's assistant coach. He has inquired about Steve Beitashour's availabilty. Supposedly, his mother is from Iran and that makes him eligible.

No, please. There might be some kind of Azizi influence over there.
