9-4-0. The San Francisco 49ers grounded the visiting Seattle Seahawks. Next up: a visit to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. -G
Probably never gonna feel comfortable against the best defense in the league. I actually thought they looked good on both sides of the ball. We just may be clicking at the best time. At least I hope.
I think we might be our healthiest going into the playoffs. lol Sherman complaining the refs won us the game, if anything we could have scored more if they called more holding and pi that defense was getting away from. I'm glad I had a chance to attend candlestick before it's taken down.
10-4-0. The San Francisco 49ers defeated the host Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Frank Gore ran for over 1,000 yards for the season for the seventh time in his pro career. Next up: Candlestick Park hosts its final-ever regular season game as the Atlanta Falcons come visit on Monday Night Football on December 23rd. -G
The final ever regular season game - and maybe the final one ever overall - in Candlestick Park will be played tonight. -G
11-4-0. The San Francisco 49ers clinched a playoff spot for the third consecutive year by defeating the Atlanta Falcons in the last-ever regular season game in Candlestick Park. Next up: the regular season finale at the Arizona Cardinals. -G
I will miss the Stick. Lot's of great memories over the years. The Catch and two Giant's NFC Championships.
Glad I made the effort to see a game at Candlestick while I was in SF last season. How does everyone feel about moving out of the city? Would be fantastic to have a home playoff game as well, can't see Seattle going down at home twice in a row though unfortunately.
I think it's terrible. You might as well call them the Santa Clara or San Jose 49ers. They should have found a site in the City. Not 50 miles away.
Not a big deal, imo. It's the all San Francisco Bay Area. And the 9ers are probably the most popular team in Nor Cal.
Given the choice, I'd rather have teams stay in or very near their namesake cities if at all possible (on a somewhat related note: as a San Jose Earthquakes fan, it's gratifying that their upcoming new stadium will actually be in San José ). Still, in a weird way, if there's any Bay Area team that can still keep its original city name in its official team name while still being 45-50 miles away from it, it's the San Francisco 49ers. -G
12-4-0. The San Francisco 49ers won a nail-biter in their season finale at the Arizona Cardinals. Next up: a Wild-Card playoff game at the Green Bay Packers. -G
13-4-0. The San Francisco 49ers won the Wild-Card playoff game at the Green Bay Packers. Next up: an NFL Divisional playoff game at the Carolina Panthers. -G
Ironically, Colin Kaepernick was born and raised in Wisconsin and grew up as a Green Bay Packers fan while Aaron Rodgers was born and raised in Northern California and grew up as a San Francisco 49ers fan. -G
I seriously thought that I was jinxing the Niners. Due to time difference, I only watched the following games: vs Seahawks, the Colts, the Panthers and the Saints. I watched a few tape delayed games where I already knew the score.... those are winning games. After the loss to the Saints, I decided not to watch any Niners game anymore this season. When I turned the TV on this "morning", the Niners were winning, but I saw them struggling offensively and defensively. "I should have stayed in bed. The Niners will lose this game because of me" I told myself. Then, the Packers took the lead. Something happened at home.... I disappeared for 10 minutes. The Niners scored a TD while I was away. I did not know what happened. Then, I watched the Packers scored again to tie the game. It happened to the Saint games too. The Niners started to lose when I turned on the TV. At that point, I thought it must be me jinxing the team again, but I stayed until the end of the game.... I really thought Dawson would miss the field goal.
14-4-0. The San Francisco 49ers advance to the NFC Championship Game for the third consecutive year. Next up: the NFC Championship Game at the Seattle Seahawks. -G
