I like Maher most of the time, but I also am an asshole most of the time. There are a few similarities with Carlin and Maher stylistically, but I agree that Miller is a better comparison. I could see Billy Connelly compared to Carlin...Carlin was still better, but the styles were quite similar.

There are similarities, but I would say the biggest difference (aside from the obvious difference in talent) is one of tone. Carlin poked fun at people for being hypocrites or being self-righteous. Maher pokes fun at people for disagreeing with him.

I always thought you were the George Gervin of BS assholes.

No, Dyvel, they probably aren't like that...they're more like him sitting in a room with three other Congresspersons who are addicts, shooting vicodin into their eyesockets. Or him and Joe Biden slurping back 'shine in the VP mansion while a psychologist looks on. Or him and John Boehner stalking the streets at night looking for prostitutes and when they strike out, turning to each other and a lone wino.
