So he will probably start there in place of Chavez this week.

I don't know, there are a lot of options: Walmart, Ramiro, Stew, Cato, Garza...

Well he was (barely) a sub last week. BTW, forgot to mention Alas in my list of wide mid starter candidates, but don't think he's match fit yet. Would love to see him play 20 minutes or so though.

I actually think we play a low scoring defense with Morrow in the middle. Sure seem to win a lot of games when he's at centerback.

Maybe Goodson could play a Geoff Cameron-like defensive mid and replace Baca? He could shield the back line, win balls in the air and sneak into the box on occasion. I heard he played forward in his youth days. I bet he would be excited to push up the pitch.

I could agree with that. Goodson over Baca wouldn't be a bad thing, but as long as the middle can move up pitch.

Is that a real quote? Because if it is it's alarming how incompetent our FO/Coach is

This is good news. Let's just hope the old legs have 2 or 3 more years in them!

Getting Stewart for another year was a good move. Helps maintain a solid back line and hopefully, if the expectation is that Morrow will continue in San Jose, then he will have a mentor to get his playing ability back to where it was in 2012. There will be plenty of matches to share between the two of them, at any rate.

Agreed. Additionally, I liked Stewart leadership and professionalism. However, his best attribute was his consistency. You know what you are going to get from each game...

Would like to see him score a few from his defensive or mid position.

ah yes, as the first thing expected of a defender is goals, lol!

stoked to see stewart and salinas got rewarded, i was impressed with the strides both of them made last year

    Hmm...

While I'm happy Stewart and Salinas were rewarded, I hope this isn't what that allocation money for Beita and Morrow is being used for..
