Couldn't find one, so here it is. Any info (mostly non-game related) about Jason goes here I guess. Anyway, MLS does a little quiz show between opposing players before their upcoming match called The Game Before the Game. Before the match at Dallas, Jason competed against Serioux. Here's the vid: Hernandez vs. Serioux

From the USMNT blog. Nice to see Hernandez getting a call-up and to see that Bob has his eye on him. His performance certainly warrants some looks.
Congratulatons Jason! Glad to see that non-Quakes fans noticed his performance last year. Definately my favorite defender on the team. At 25, he is still young for a defender...
I just got this email : Earthquakes Defender Jason Hernandez Called Into United States National Team Training Camp in Carson SAN JOSE, Calif. – After an outstanding 2008 campaign, San Jose Earthquakes defender Jason Hernandez has been called into the United States National Team training camp in Carson, Calif. by head coach Bob Bradley. Hernandez will join his teammates Tuesday night at the camp, which started Jan. 4. He will be making his debut at a U.S. National Team training camp. Hernandez had a career year in 2008 for the Earthquakes, starting 28 games and helping San Jose post the fourth-best goals against average in the league. Hernandez played both center back and left back for the Quakes, as the team posted nine shutouts. The 28 starts were a career high and he also notched his first career assist last season. The former Seton Hall star came to San Jose after being selected in the 2007 MLS Expansion Draft from Chivas USA. He is entering his fifth year in Major League Soccer. The national team camp is comprised mostly of players from Major League Soccer. The group is preparing for the USA’s first match of 2009, a friendly against Sweden on Jan. 24 at The Home Depot Center. The match will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel and Galavision beginning at 5:30 p.m. PT. Fans can also follow the game live via ussoccer.com’s MatchTracker
Congrats to Hernandez for making the Men Team. This is giving the Earthquakes some street cred. Let's see if Bradley will actually give him some minutes to prove himself.
Thank god he is going to be capped for the U.S. I remeber there being a lot of talks that he was trying to get called into the Puerto Rican team, so he could play on a national team. I may be wrong, but that is what I recall. Lets hope we can keep Jason for a long time and make him develop into one of the baddest defenders in the league and national team.
wonderful to see this opportunity come jason's way....if this hadn't happened, i would've loved to have seen him go on a month-long trial at tottenham and just get in some training and possibly a reserve match or two, just for the experience

KLIV 1590 has had the story on the radio today. Did the San Jose Mercury News cover the story? If so, I missed it.
Easy to miss. Three or four sentences stating the obvious. Also the Filth picked someone up and dumped someone else.
