The Cotto fight is pointless. He doesn't even have a puncher's chance of beating May. Just another boring UD for Money.

De La Hoya did say he was going to stack the undercard, so let's hope that saves the night. Canelo is supposed to be fighting in the undercard, and sounds like Mosley might be his opponent.

Dude, he just said that Sergio Martinez is an old guy on the way out looking for a late payday....when he was, just months ago, calling out a retired Oscar De La Hoya for "revenge." If he thinks Maravilla is old, what does that make Oscar?

You are likely just on a WUM. No one really believes that Jr is making something of himself. He still has much to prove. The lustre of the last name should start wearing out soon.

But like SDS says, if Rubio does not knock out Jr, he is not getting a decision. No way, no how. Plus, we are in Texas, right? The site of the big robbery known as Chavez-Whitaker.

I'll be at the UFC fights in Vegas so I won't catch tommorow's card til Sunday night or Monday. I'm looking forward to both fights. I wanna know what Nonito can do moving up in weight. Working with Conte shouldn't hurt his chances at being successful ;). I'm pretty sure Jr takes this fight, and it'll lead to another non-Martinez fight down the road.

As far as May/Cotto. Not even slightly amused. That under better be loaded because I was offered to cover this fight, and now I'm having second thoughts.

I just heard there's a good chance Chavez Jr won't be making weight today. Tsk tsk...

    Lucky bastard :D

I heard Chavez is having a very hard time coming down too. Like I said, a couple of friends said he'd been getting worked in sparring as well. Who knows, maybe he'll surprise all of us.

Edit: Everyone made weight. Jr. had to strip all the way down to make it.

Looks like Jr and Rubio are yet to weigh in. :( I was wondering why my homie who is covering the UFC fight in Vegas would be so quick to know about this weigh in taking place in Texas?

So if he beats Rubio, a tough fight, and he beats a past his prime Margarito, who's still a threat he's still a bum? Got it.

You are talking about Margarito, who has really no wins at Jr. MW, who has been destroyed in his last three fights (Garcia in Mexico does not count), and has not fought at MW, as a threat? Got it.

I still don't see how jr is still getting the benefit of the doubt, as "champion" he should be fighting the best middleweight out there not Rubio (who for fighting jr does not make him a legit middleweight contender) much less a welter like margarito

He's just following the blueprint set by DLH.

I hope he manages his money better than his old man did.

I cant believe ppl still giving that bum the benefit of the doubt...like RS said, hope he can manage his money way better than JCC.

Arum & Sulaiman are protecting the shit out of him... i hope Rubio exposes his ass.

What blueprint is that? AFAIK, De La Hoya did not make a name for himself off his daddy's last name (well, technically, yeah, but you know what I mean).;)

Was it that south american/caribbean bastard? Man, I hate him...But he was the only decent stream running.

Thought Veneno fought well enough for a draw, but he sure as hell wasn't gonna get the decision.

JC is alright...Still cant ******** with Maravilla, but hes overrated himself. I'd order that fight. I expected Veneno to throw more punches. Same with Nick Diaz, but thats a different thread...
