I'll be at the induction ceremony in June! We'll see what happens when him and Hagler are in the same room.

Pacquiao and Arum want a Floyd fight at the end of May so that Arum has time to complete a temporary outdoor arena that will accomodate a lot more people than the MGM Grand

Wasn't Arum and Pac looking for a fight on May 5th until it was announced that BPF's sentencing was going to be pushed back? Now Top Rank comes up with this bullshit and also some excuse that that Pac has a "cut" that won't be healed until late June? ******** both of these clowns... just like the NFL in LA, I won't believe it till I see it.. Now PBF is constantly calling out Pac? It's a ********ing circus and we're just all puppets getting our strings pulled by both sides....

Arum did mention a stadium a few weeks back, but he wasn't near as adamant about it as he is now.

People ask me all the time if I feel this fight is going to happen. I've mostly replied with I don't know?, but I would also mention I felt it was more of a nay than yay. After what's currently taking place I'm investing more into that nay notion. And I'm less and less looking forward to this fight IF it ever takes place.

This is silliness. The only reason that May was allowed to push his term was because he had a contractual obligation on a certain date, May 5th.

Arum is just no good for boxing.

Y'all were talking earlier about a Ghost vs Rios fight, but that fight has little to no chance to ever happening, most thankfully to Bob Arum. His shows need to be in-house so he can reap the most rewards. Guys like Chavez Jr and Pacquiao were recently called Arum's bitches by none other than Sergio Martinez, who knows what it is like to be dicked around by the Arum-machine. He's bad for boxing, a sport that has been on life support for a while (and he knows this and seems to want to bleed it dry).

While agreeing with your rant. Promoters have been doing what Arum is doing now for years. Don King was one of the most despicable characters in boxing. Look up his business relations with Mike Tyson and Julio Ceasar Chavez ;). Rarely do these guys look out for the livelihood of their clients. It's almost always about them. Ten to twenty years from now you can make this same post and fill in Golden Boy, or some other name and it will still have application as it did decades ago. It sucks.

    Oh, I know Don King.

I need to clip of Iron Mike telling him to ******** off in front of a live interview to make me feel better.;)

I'm just very irritated that a lot of fights that should go down don't. And you're right about this being the way that it has been for a while and how it will be in the future. It blows big time.

I'd love to see Ghost vs. Rios. Not Rios (who is struggling to make 135lb) vs. Gamboa. It almost seems like they're forcing Bam Bam to stay at lightweight in order to wait for Gamboa. Stupid. Gamboa has guys to fight. How about Broner? Chavez Jr should be forced to fight Maravilla, NOW, not later on or never. It is just the way boxing is, I know. And I hate it.

I agree with everything you said except for the boxing on life support BS. The UFC faags are the only ones that keep trying to say shit like that, when in reality boxing is and has been fine. PPV's still make a shit load of money, boxers make more money than mmgay fighers.

The last Floyd fight and the Pacquiao fight outsold any of the UFC events last year. People still like boxing, no matter what anyone says. People have ALWAYS been saying that boxing is dying. Things are never perfect. In the old days when there was only one title and there was less weight divisions, many fighters who deserved title shots were never given the time of day. Then, if you got a shot and didn't take advantage of it or got screwed, you weren't ever given another chance. If you think fighters get f*cked over now, imagine back then.

The alphabet organizations came about to provide a uniform set of rules that would oversee rankings. That has become a joke in large part now. We're seeing it now with the whole Maravilla and Chavez debacle.

One question, why wasn't Arum talking about building this new arena when negotiations were close before? He's saying that the arena would ensure more money for the fighters, somewhere in the range of an extra 20 million. What if they say screw that money and let's get it done now?

I still say that Mayweather should be in jail now. But if he isn't because he had secured the May 5th date, why not stop bullshitting and just make the fight?

I agree with Swag, all this damn drama is going on now. No matter how good the fight is it probably won't live up to all of the expectations that have built up. It's ridiculous. I'm also losing interest in the fight.

    @Jaliscience
My words of Boxing on life support have little to nothing to do with MMA. I don't really watch MMA (once in a while I will, though) and I don't think it has anything to do with boxing other than them trying to make name for themselves on boxing's back.

IMO, boxing is in a sorry state. Boxing used to be, a very long time ago, in the forefront of American sports. It was up there with baseball. It is so far from that now. Yes, the sport makes money, and the big stars are making a lot of money, but where boxing stands currently is a far cry from even where it was 20 years ago. While big fights have always been difficult to make, nowadays even the small fights that should happen don't. Boxing seems to be shrinking into wrestling-style territories because the two huge companies are not willing to work with each other or the other little territories. This is bad for boxing. Arum and GBP know this, and yet don't care. They're the ones making the big bucks and ultimately, that is all they are concerned with. It is a huge sham where guys like Mosley and Marquez have to leave their stable to even be in the running to fight Pacquiao. But I'm even talking on the small scale, where guys like Rios, Broner, and Donaire will probably never really face the real challenges because of the structure of boxing. This is going to hurt it much more long term (from the standpoint that boxing is already pretty low on the sporting landscape).

Looks like canelo is in the lead for the mayweather fight.
