Yea I just read the deadspin article... talk about Catfish.. this definitely would take the cake if it was made into an episode.

Good for him! If you're a college coach who works hard, manages to keep the kiddies out of trouble (most of them, anyhow- Blount and Masoli were exceptions, IMO) and displays a clue about winning games, sooner or later you're going to get that call-up. Now, you and I both know no NFL franchise thinks highly enough of Fewer Miles to offer him a HC job, but if that were to change, you should be thinking of him fondly, not hating on his rise. Ahahahahaha what????? Oregon ought to be glad they had him for as long as they did. College football is preparation if you're good enough to play on Sunday, memorabilia for your insurance office wall if you ain't. That applies to coaches just like it does players.
Maybe so. You get the shot, it doesn't work, you come back and earn a living. No shame in that. Am I to assume that your snark was related to thinking he can't make it on Sunday? You may be right. But hey, at least he's been asked. Plenty of CFB guys don't even get asked. Chip's ahead of them no matter what happenes to him in Philly.
Only thing that should matter when coaching at a big school, is how many Nattys one has.. he has none. I was more or so laughing at The Iggles and Oregon. They were suppose to be NC contenders.. idk with OC at HC and WR coach at OC.. They don't have the Chip factor. and Eagles will still suck. Most hyped team season after season.
The NFL is looking for talent, not popularity. By your silly-ass standards, they ought to be pursuing Gene Chizik or Les Miles. They aren't. What do you know that they don't? Wait, I'll take that one. Not a god-damned thing. Then stop laughing. You are an LSU fan. You've won two B(C)S titles playing in your backyard against absolutely high school-shitty opposition. Your coach's gambler charm has run out and your most famous player had to leave because he can't stay away from the green sticky. Katrina with God's guidance goes 40 miles further northwest.
I started a separate thread on this. Honestly I don't know what to think. I certainly hope this was not a hoax by Manti and some friends and if it was a hoax directed at Te'O, that is really sick.
Subs 16, 3rd in a row, and A.J. wins the heisman. (; The recruiting class is looking strong, the team will probably have the best WR group in the nation. In Saban we trust.
What is Aggies. A.J. needs to be better than Johnny Heisman every week.. heh. Aggies have by far the best WR recruiting class.. Ricky Seal-Jones, Ja'Quay Williams, Derrick Griffin, and Tony Stevens... add that with a returning WR core of Malcolm Kennedy, Mike Evans, and Thomas Johnson... thats a deep set of WRs.
http://www.usatoday.com/story/gameo...anklin-vanderbilt-alabama-nick-saban/1877847/ Why, Coach Franklin? Why??? You have students. He has athletes. You're ging to get run out of the stadium no matter how hard you work.
http://espn.go.com/college-football...d-toomer-corner-oaks-auburn-coming-final-roll erick, your boy hasn't been to trial yet, but his work is done. Congrats!
LSU campus has gone wild for the last couple of days and with signing day approaching it looks like it will get even more crazier. Rumors of two huge signings on signing day, but noone seems to know who they are. Also news have been swirling that the #1 recruit in the nation has come to grips with playing away from his Big Brother and might choose LSU since his Mom gave Les Miles the nod from Nigeria via telephone. Oh and LSU is supposedly going to sign a new OC after Signing Day. I don't believe any of it, but I would not mind landing Robert Nkemdiche on signing day and two other big time players of need who can play right-a-way.
You got muscle and speed, no doubt. But what are you going to do about Les Miles' playcalling and decisionmaking? The man's gone from being worth a couple of wins on his own to being worth a couple of losses.
Goofy stat, but I found it interesting. Some people were wondering if Courtney Upshaw was the first player to win a college national championship and a Super Bowl in back to back years on the same field (Superdome.) Not only wasn't he the first, he wasn't even the first to do it at the Superdome. Tony Dorsett for Pitt and the Cowboys in 76/77. Crazy.
